No idea what the minimum sentence in NJ is, but, although I could be wrong, think it's two years in Canada, plus you can credit for time and a half served before trial.

IYa, its one thing if you dont like it, but to say he's drunk 99% of the time he does his podcast... he almost never drinks on the regular podcast.
They had nothing but amazing things to say about Johnny.

It definitely isn’t for everyone, but I’ve been listening for years. To claim that they’re all douchbages is a bit much. Not for everyone for sure, but they’re a massive part of hockey media these days.

I searched the name in Google and after the news stories that website came up. I felt bad that he probably got lumped in with the guy who's in jail.
I don't know why you're mad, he had nothing to do with the incident.

Probably better to just let it go? Sorry for empathizing with someone who probably got some rude reaction because of his name? Sorry generally for causing you exasperation?
Sheesh. Let's go back to talking about if Ryan Whitney is drunk, I guess.

Yeah. Some other ####ing xxx Higgins is the real victim here. #### sales, that’s stupid
Thanks. You do you, caped crusader

If you noticed, this thread was made to keep this talk out of the Gaudreau thread.

You know who I could suggest empathizing with?
The Gaudreau brothers’ widows and kids
Their parents
Their teammates
Their ex teammates
Their coaches
The people they encountered every day and occasionally in their day to day lives
You know who is way at the bottom of a really long list? People you google who are clearly not the same person who live elsewhere but share a common name with the killer
You want kudos for empathizing with coincidental randos that nobody is thinking about?
Way to dig in. I guess
It is just weird

Don't expect him to get much time. I'd guess most likely no jail time, though Johnny was famous so maybe he gets some. If this was an ordinary person it would be no jail time.
|
On The MADD website, the range of jail time in NJ for drunk driving causing death ranges from 5-10 years.
I will also depend if he is charged with other crimes.

In 2020 a guy came out of a bar in Cochrane drunk, ran into a couple of parked cars, then mowed down a cyclist and killed him. I can’t even find anything on his sentencing…anybody know anything about that one?
