Good, means Treliving isn't caving to excessive demands or giving up key pieces that we shouldn't be giving up.

And that shuts down all the Wideman/Russell rumours.

Yeah, it's a tough trade to put together. We're not moving Brodie, Hamilton probably isn't going anywhere as we just acquired him(and it seems he's turning his game around, which is good), and Giordano is maybe more likely, but he's the leader of the team and just got signed long term. Russell and Wideman obviously would be available, but Snow most likely wants more than that. Maybe in a package, but probably not.
At the same time, if someone proposed a 1st and two 2nd round picks for Hamilton before that trade, they would've been laughed at right out of the building(different situation of course, but still). Who knows, but hopefully Treliving can pull off some jedi mind tricks or something.

Only way IMO Russell or Wideman get it done is if it at the end of exploring all options they are the best offer on the table (which seems unlikely)

Pretty simple math with those three teams. CGY and WIN both have great d-men in their early 20's, so they aren't going to give up a bunch. Especially CGY given than Brad just traded 3 good assets for Hamilton, and Brodie is the best player that's been mentioned in these talks, you don't move him. Period.
Edmonton just has nothing that the Isles want. Yeah I'm sure they wouldn't mind adding Yak or Eberle plus some other assets, but not at the expense of Hamonic. Sorry EDM fans, there's just nothing desirable about your lineup.
Plus, they all know he wants to be in one of those markets, particularly Winnipeg.

Are the Canucks totally out of this? How far off in value is Tanev v Hamonic?
It worries me that Vancouver isn't listed with the interested teams. They should be interested in a guy like this given the state of their team.
I'm scared they might swoop in out of nowhere and get a really good player. That would be annoying.
Nevermind. I just remembered Jim Benning is their GM. Good times...

It sounds like Hamonic isn't interested in Vancouver.

He'll go anywhere else in Western Canada, and maybe to a couple in the US... but not Vancouver? Winnipeg is choice #1?
This whole situation is really interesting.
Hopefully none of our young guys do this to us down the road.

Well considering there are a lot of US NHL teams closer to Winnipeg than Vancouver it isn't surprising.
The rumor is he wants to be back home in Winnipeg to be close to an ailing family member.

Insider Trading speculated that both the Wild and Avs could also be in on this.

I said it already. But Barrie for Hamonic makes the most sense.

The Avs are in a similar position as to what Boston was with Hamilton during the summer I believe.

Colorado is a budget team and Barrie is a pending RFA. Friedman put it out there that if the Avs have trouble re-signing Barrie, he will be put on the trade market.

And then when Strome and Dal Colle's contracts are up for re-signing, Treliving flips swoops in and picks them up, as Colorado apparently can't re-sign anyone.

Hamonic + Okposo in exchange for Brodie + Hudler?
If Treliving could get assurance that Okposo could be re-signed for something reasonable, maybe a deal like this makes sense. Otherwise, it's difficult to envision involving Brodie in any way.
