Value wise Nick's is very good. Their steak sandwich is as good as many top sirloins at average steakhouses.

Other than that - tons of great places in Calgary - Saltlick, Hy's, Ceasers.

The Keg though is horrible.

Caesars (either location), then Hy's. For atmosphere too.

Wasn't too impressed with Vintage.

Red Carpet at Glenmore/Elbow can be good sometimes, sometimes not.

Not far behind, and decent value, was Cattle Baron down in Sundance.

Agreed on the Keg being below average at best.

KEG steak suck if you ask me. terrible bang for buck.

the single best steak is at the Cactus Club. Cajun rolled steak with Creole Butter. I have eaten in many places and frankly I have never had a better steak, never mind its under $20.00.

Seriously, not a single mention in this thread, you guys are missing out. Great cut, great flavour, hot chicks.

Caesars for me

The Reef and Beef in the NE use to grill a mean steak. They still have $3.95 steak sandwiches in the lounge same price since 89 and they also make the best Caesars

For best price/quality I would have to say Bootleggars 2 for 1 Saturdays. Sounds cheesy but the steaks are suprisingly good

I found that Cactus Club has great food in general. I'm always surprised every time I go there how good the menu is. Definitely underrated.

Japanese Village! Ah-so!

Delicious. I know Jordon is also a fan. And they have supported Flames radio forever.

a true steak connoisseur might say that if you need to marinate your meat, its probably not that good to begin with.
