That is true, Sportchek and Sport Swap both have the RBK 5K pads on for $399.99. When I said that Calgary is an expensive place to buy
goalie equipment, I meant the sports stores like The
Goalie Shop, Tuxedo, B and P, etc. The big dept stores like Sport Chek are reasonable for entry level equipment, like the 5Ks. But they carry very few
goalie equipment lines and it is all entry level stuff.
If you start wanting to get a little higher quality equipment, that is where the stores here stick it to ya.
One last thing, if you do buy the 5K pads, you may want to add one extra knee stack to the pad, otherwise you will bang your knee on your ice when you butterfly.
