Quick fix for that! Water bottle! Water fountain! Cold water! Just as good!
Yes, you still are on CP.
Serious tip of the night: Maybe consider leaving the computer, try starting your essay with just pen and paper. Then type it up from there. I find that it helps you get started.

So how we doin boyz? I was hopin to get this one finished off by tonight, but I just dont have it in me. Got two of my three sections done, all I got left to do is focus on the first(and longest) section now, plus formatting, and she's good to go. Gonna leave it for tomorrow morning though, its not due until 4pm, so I figure if I get up sometime between 8-9, that six to seven hours should be enough to polish this thing off.
Why, oh why must I push everything to the last possible minute? I swear I thrive under pressure-packed situations, and am completely useless anytime else.

I feel your pain. I am patiently plugging away at my section of a group project as we speak.
Something about sifting through Financial Statements for large international conglomerates late at night just kills my will to live.
I wonder why that is??
Anyways, I too leave everything to the last minute. Because there is always something else to work on which has fewer available minutes.
Its all about teh prioriteez!!

Something about being kicked out of the library while doing absolutely nothing wrong seems wrong to me (UofL library closes @ 11).
I feel that i have done enough research for my essay, unfortunately have no outline or words down on paper yet.
I always hear in other classes about students getting extensions, so I actually gave in and fired an email off asking for one myself. I have no idea how those are handed out, so here's hoping I'll get one!
My essay is due @ 2 tomorrow, i(f I don't get the extension) so I am going to bed right now, and going to wake up and rush to finish it before then.

Reading lots and writing nothing is a bad way to research.

Yeah, I can't say that I've written nothing down...
I just haven't formulated any of it into my own words, nor do I have an outline done showing me how and where I use each tidbit I gathered.

That is one nice thing about the UofC library... open almost 24/7 during school ( like open 9am sunday-11:00pm friday or something, but hours saturday), and definetly 24/7 around finals

I thought the Info comm is open 24/7 on weekdays, until Friday, when it closes down at 11PM.

A little early morning tip for those that are desperate: The easiest way to add an extra page on to your essay without actually doing the work is replacing all your size 12 periods with size 14 periods. Give it a try - the change seriously isn't even noticeable to the human eye. If you're skeptical, print off a copy of an essay with size 12 periods and one with size 14 periods. You seriously can't tell! By my estimate, you'll get about one extra page if you've got ten pages written in size 12 font.
This is obviously only the path of the desperate but who isn't looking for the easy way out at 5am?

If you want to save yourself the time of selecting each period, instead of doubles spaced paper, make your lines 1.5. That's all that is doing.
Basically don't do it!
If your prof has all the the papers stacked, eventually yours will show up beside another students, and the line spacing will become blatently obvious!

Asking early is usually the way to go. But I find most profs are pretty lenient.

Another tip..."Verdana" font is your friend. Can be mistaken for Arial, but surprisinly stretches our more. You can easily add on another two pages this way on a 10-12 page paper. It looks like Arial...it writes like Arial...but brother, it ain't Arial!
Also, just finished up my last paper at 2:30 this afternoon, 1.5 hours before it was due. Now its nuthin but studyin for finals, yee haw!!

I don't understand it:
I have 5 finals in 5 days, going from tuesday-saturday next week.
I'm a little worried that I only have 3 days to study for all of them, having not kept up with the content since the midterms very well.
Of course, what am I doing the few weeks up to the 3 days of cramming?
Absolutely nothing.

Another trick is to change your font to 12.5 Not very noticable, and you'll get a few extra pages..
I should be writing my history essays (2 1000 word essays) but what am I doing instead of it? (I did start one...650ish words) Planning to watch the Flames game and then go to the den...lol

Footnotes >>> Endnotes for adding 'length' to the essay, and it makes your pages look fuller too.

I assume the 'expanding margins' is so elementary it doesn't even need mentioning anymore. A quarter inch on the top, bottom, and both sides, really adds to the length.

I'm taking a class with paper maximums. Usually 3-4 pages. Very refreshing, it really helps you write your best instead of just BSing for pages and pages.
