I hate short papers for some reason, much more than long ones. I have a 10 page paper on German History due and I cannot get motivated, it's taken me so long to just trim down information and figure out what I want to put into the essay.

Not many essays for me this semester.
Lotsa group assignments and stuff...but no essays. Yippee!
I've actually been really good about this "time management" stuff this semester...I've started all the assignments more than a night before they're due, and I've actually studied hard for all my midterms and stuff. Strange how my grades have gone way up this semester.

Well, I have just began researching my poli sci essay. It's due tommorow, but shouldn't be too bad as it is only 8 pages (2,000 words).
It's on the evolution of political parties in canada if anyone has some tips. haha

You have to write a 20 page history paper at the 200 level, are you freakin kidding??? I'm a Social Studies major in the Ba.Ed program at the UofA and have taken several History classes, including three 300-level ones. And I've never had to write longer than a 12-pager, even at the 300-level. Your prof must be a dousche.

I know my prof is a ######. Right now I'm working on a 4,000 word term paper on the issues of racism and jazz and how it impinged on the identity of George Gershwin as a composer and the reception of his works both past and present. And this is a 300 level course and its due Friday

Wow, I didn't even catch that. Yeah, I'm a history major and the only 20 pager I've ever had was in the 500s. Usually it goes 8 pages for 200s, 10 for 300s, 15 for 400s, then 20 for 500s. Who the hell do you have? If you have to do that for a 200 level, I never wanna take a 500 with that prof.
Wait, HotHotHeat, are you at the U of C?

Seriously??! Poli Sci we start out 10-12 in the 200s, 15s in the 300s, and almost everything over 20-25 in the 400s and 500s.

Yeah, that about seems to be the norm for us, I'm taking HTST/POLI 551 right now, it's the first 15-20 pager I've ever had to write. Although I find in poli there's a lot more stats and numbers and that takes up quite a bit of room.

Lol, you thinking about taking it? Women in Canadian politics. Dr Lisa Young. I think they rotate profs, with the poli prof teaching one year (this year) and the htst prof teaching the next. I really recommend this course just because I've probably had the most fun in my entire 4 years in this course.

Oh, I've had Dr. Young a couple of times. She's a pretty easy marker. I stopped taking Canadian courses a couple years ago and have completed my degree with Political Theory courses. That's the fun stuff.
