I have a feeling he could "fall" to 6th behind Dubois and Tkachuk. If that's where we are drafting, Treliving should run up to the podium and pick Chychrun as fast as possible. You take BPA, always.
Yeah I'd be pretty happy with Chychrun. Adding him would give us an elite top 4 for years to come. His combination of size, strength, physicality, skill and skating is very attractive.
What a release this guy has. You could see him in the slot for about three seconds before he got the puck just thinking about how he was going to put it home!
Perfectly placed shot. I heard Puljujarvi had been the better player in the playoffs so far.
I've only watched like 20 minutes of the series but my impression is that Laine's deciding game 5 in the previous series has been the only truly great performance by either. Decent points for both but playoffs aren't easy for teenagers.
For Laine next season depends on leg strength. He has great control with the puck but needs explosiveness. Puljujärvi is light on his skates but often more awkward. Both are kids trying to come to terms with their big bodies, but it shows in different ways.

The reason I'd want Chychrun over the other defencemen is he fits in very well. We already have 3 guys that can put up over 50 points.
There are concerns that Chychrun won't develop offensively but on the Flames we don't need that. He can be one of or maybe even the very best defensive defenceman in the NHL. He would round out our top 4 very nicely IMO/

There's also a video of Laine's best shifts in tonight's game which gives a better idea of his player type than just the usual PP goals. Looks like he had a good game overall.

Sergachev is done and it looks like Chychrun and Juolevi might be done early as well. Obviouslys Tkachuk would be done as well. we'll have to see what happens Bar-Miss but a large portion of the early lottery picks may have under 7 games of playoff experience on their resume. They're going to make it even harder on the scouts
How would the expansion draft work for Oliver Kylington? Since he is playing pro in the AHL this year would he be exposed in a 2018 expansion draft? Or would he be ineligible because his contract "slides" this year?

I thought I read somewhere the pro years won't count if the player still has junior eligibility. ie Matthews won't get dinged for playing overseas.
No one is 100% sure how the expansion draft will work, but there are some hints they might use the CBA's definition of pro season:
Quote:
The term "professional season" shall: (A) for a Player aged 18 or 19, mean any season in which such Player plays in eleven (11) or more Professional Games (including NHL Regular Season and Playoff Games, minor league regular season and playoff games, and games played in any European professional league, while under an SPC), and (B) for a Player aged 20 or older, mean any season in which such Player plays in one or more Professional Games (including NHL Regular Season and Playoff Games, minor league regular season and playoff games, and games played in any European professional league, while under an SPC).
Which would mean Kylington has played his first pro season this season. 2016/2017 would be his 2nd if he plays 11 or more pro games.
If there is an expansion draft in 2018 Kylington would be considered a 3rd year pro player.

If the Flames do end up drafting a defenceman (e.g. Chychrun, Sergachev, or Bean), I wonder if it makes them more open to including one of Kylington, Andersson, or Hickey in a package for a top 6 RW.
