when it comes 2 driving cheapest route is to get a sask adress, and pass the test there and get insurence there, thats what i did when i was playing jr out in sask. LOADS cheaper than Alberta insurence plus i dont think they have graduated Liceses like alberta now does im in not mistaken

If you cant find a sask adress all my buddies took driving school at the one offered in Canyon meadows

^^^ That has to be the worst advice ever in the history of CP.

What happens when you get into a major accident, and the insurance company looks into it and find out that you are an Alberta resident?

The whole point of insurance is to be sure you won't be held financially responsible for something that you cannot afford. Which is why most of us don't have the minimum of $250K PLPD on our cars- most of us have over $1M.

It's one thing to have Sask insurance if you are playing Junior Hockey there, or are going to school there, or working there. By doing any of those things, you establish residency there.

Another part of the difference in cost- there are no major cities in Saskatchewan close to the size of Calgary. Bigger cities mean bigger insurance rates. If you don't believe me- try putting in Medicine Hat as your address instead of Calgary on an online insurance quote. Smaller cities pay less for insurance.

Don't mess around with insurance unless you are extremely rich, or only have a couple of weeks to live.

Do you mean in the strip mall there with Willow Park Liquor Store, right across from Southcentre? If so, thats where I went as well and I thought it was great(though this was back in '99, it may have changed alot since then). Got my license my first try too, I was shocked about that. Also I dont know if all places do this, but at that one you got to go on a training course where you basically ripped around, avoiding cones and practicing spin-outs and stuff, good times. I dont know how it compares to other driving schools, but all I can say is it was good stuff, I'd recommend it.

...although one day my instructor called and informed me we had to re-sked our session that day, as his crappy car I was learning on broke down on the way to my house. Good times

If this is the same thread as a couple days ago, where 4X4 and I started making jokes about speeding and driving in the left lane, then I guess my post had been removed- rightfully so, it wasn't on topic. So here you go:

My brother took AMA and he passed his test the first time, and I believe they also offer refresher courses... so if that is something you are looking for then that might fit. Depends on what you want to pay though, because some of them can get expensive, so I am sure some of the smaller schools would be able to get you what you needed at a cheaper rate. Good luck.
