The last line of the episode was perfect.
Lady, you don't realize what you're asking for... or how right you are.

That was a really good episode for sure. I watched it on Crave and found the picture to be pretty choppy. Was that only me?

Why hello... Dexter Morgan. Good to have the show in fine form again. Bring on the ride to come!
Haha:
"Should I close the door?"
"No..no"

What happens after this season? Is it over or might there be a spin-off?

There was something on reddit, obviously to be taken with a huge grain of salt cause the legitimacy can't be verified, about them filming multiple endings and the one they go with hinges upon how the limited series performs with audiences. And also that they discussed the option of continuing with Hall in his contract negotiations.
I could see any future season centering around Harrison with Dexter being more of a support role, obviously given that both characters survive New Blood.
I hope they just go with their big ending that Clyde Phillips claimed would be internet-breaking. The strongest story trumps anything else to me.

Been saving up to now so I could binge.
Not a big fan of the first two. The usual dexter contrivances and ridiculous coincidences we’re all used to. Most of all I just didn’t find it engaging. But I’m excited enough to watch Dexter that it can be overlooked for now. Hopefully it improves.
I’ve blocked the last season from my mind. How did Harrison not know what happened to Dexter? Wasn’t he outed? Isn’t that why he escaped to Oregon?
I wonder if Harrison killed Hannah. He was born in blood, just like Dexter. I also wonder if he kills Dexter, like Mr Brooks’ daughter in Mr Brooks. He’s destined to be a killer.

Matt’s dad is the girl killer, right?
Don’t answer that. I’m just speculating.
I also feel like Harrison is gonna kill one of those annoying football players.

Uh I’m sorry but what kind of town has a publicly accessible crematorium? And how did Dexter not think of that first? Oh maybe I’ll just throw the body in that public incinerator that’s unlocked and unsupervised for anyone to use.

Yeah, that was a little weird wasn't it? It made me wonder if I missed a part that explained it or maybe there was a deleted scene that set that up?

If there was, I missed it too.
Instead, I just think it was super lazy.

That it took him two episodes to think of the crematorium was ridiculous. This a guy that was trained and practiced in getting away with killing for years, even if he was rusty.
Wasn't a huge fan of the first couple episodes but it's picked up nicely since, thankfully.

Harrison clearly attacked Ethan (Evan?) first. I get the feeling he went for a Trinity style thigh cut. He knew those revenge pics were in his backpack and that he’d be able to pin it on the other kid.
Ok well Dexter sniffed that out pretty quick. The scene with him and Deb in the school was pretty good. I like her as the dark passenger.
Eps 1-3 weren’t good. But 4 was much better. They took way too long to introduce the missing girl storyline. That podcaster is super annoying.
Omg maybe Harrison kills the cops daughter trinity style.
And on to episode 5.
The writing is getting super sloppy. Dexter attacks that guy mid day out side a bar? The cop leaves the door open while interrogating a suspect? Lol. Then dexter goes to the next suspect’s house in the middle of the day when he knows the cops have the address. And how did Dexter get pictures of all the victims in one afternoon?
Chloe refusing to run when the Shawshank guard wanted to shoot her actually made me laugh. Total Prometheus situation. Run the other direction you fool! His porch only faces on direction. Run behind his house or something.
Angel makes an appearance!
Dexter knows his son is a psycho so he tells him very sternly that he has to go to therapy and just walks out the door to go commit murder without a care in the world for his murderer son.

I'm not going to say the criticisms don't have some merit, but not many series top the suspense and the fun ride that Dexter is. The last few seasons of the original run lost that, but it's definitely back in this iteration!

Dexter is like scrumptious junk food. You look at the fine print in the ingredients and it'll raise an eyebrow. But it's just a joy to devour.
Kurt Caldwell is quickly rising the ranks in the shows history of antagonists. And the quality of your antagonist can really make or break a season. Now that we're being given much more depth to the character, you realize Clancy Brown is putting on a clinic of a performance here.

Another terrific episode tonight. Clancy Brown is turning into a pretty great villain. Only 2 episodes left, so it'll be interesting to see how they wrap everything up.
