(Really, I don't have to use green text, do I?)
Just wait for Vivid Entertainment to come up with something. They got turned down by the lady with two vaginas, but... what about a zombie lady with 15 possible orifices?

Anyhooo....

I highly recommend checking out the comics. You can get them in so many formats now that it's totally worth your while. You can get the actual comics, the graphic novels, books or compendiums.

Should have had Carl shrug his shoulders and say "meh that old man was a pain in the ace Dad can we have his crappy RV?"

Everyone looks at him with horror

I always figured this would be an excellent premise for a TV show. The book basically is a "factual" account from survivors all over the world. So it jumps all across the planet and tells individual stories about how people made it through the certain stages of the apocalypse.

What I liked about it was the way it was presented. IMO it could easily be a TV show based on the Zombies. That would be the only similarity between episodes, each week, new cast, new locations but still progresses the overall story line of how the world reacts and survives a "outbreak" from Japan to South Africa to Canada. They were all in it together.

Anyway I digress...tangent over...
Listening to it on my ipod now. Great so far and looking forward to the movie.

I completely disagree, in large part because—as a number of astute posters have already pointed out—this show is not just about zombie carnage. In fact, it is not even its primary focus.

The farm presents a place of refuge for the group to explore the idea of creating a better world—or of preserving some semblance of the old one. It is clearly not permanent, and I expect that they will be moving on by the end of this season—but were it not for the farm, we wouldn't have the opportunity to see the building tension taking place between Rick and Shane, or Darryl's gradual disenfranchisement, or Carl's growing callousness and disregard for life. Furthermore, we wouldn't have the chance to see Lori's growing sense of entitlement, which I believe is soon to become a major problem for the group.

I am sad to see Dale go, but also very interested to see what kind of effect this will have on the group. Someone mentioned it earlier, and I also believe that Andrea will take Dale's place as the conscience for the group.

Also, how horrible must life be for Carl? To be the ONLY kid in a group of adults; no one to play with; to constantly be pushed aside and left out; to have several mothers and fathers but no peers with which to commiserate? How much has Sofia's death and Carl's resulting isolation affected the change in his character?

While watching this week's episode I kept thinking about what life must be like for Carl. How many of us as kids relished spending all our time alone with the adults in our lives? I sure as hell didn't, and I expect that this is taking a severe toll on him psychologically.

Watched the road last night.

Yikes - what a depressing movie. That family at the end was creepy too. Why were they following them. Clearly with the dog they were the people that scared them out of the nice bunker they found. Why not help earlier on too. If they hadn't scared them out of the bunker everything might have been fine. . . . Geez. What a weird world to grow up in. Really makes you wonder about the suicide option.

I crawled into bed pretty miserable last night. Odd.

^^I hear ya, that is the most "hopeless" movie I think I've ever seen, I just couldn't find any light at the end of the tunnel. That looked more like the human extinction event to me. The people still living can certainly be considered the Walking Dead.

That scene in the basement of the farm house is sooo creepy.

I think he thought it was the people from the farmhouse that's why he left. Yeah that family was creepy, I am sure they'll eat the boy when they get hungry enough...it's better when your food can pack itself around.

Awesome.

Shane was a jealous, bitter, dangerous loose cannon.

Good riddance.

Next week is going to be wicked! Zombie horde is a comin'!

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that the reason that Shane was acting the way he did was because he was slowly turning into a walker due to a previous injury that he suffered from a walker. Would that be accurate?

I would assume that the disease is now airborne and everyone is a carrier, but it doesn't take effect until you die. The same thing happened with Shane, Randal and remember the 2 cops when they first tried to set Randal free had no bites either.
