Talking dead was fantastic with Adam Savage, I love how he brought science and logic into the conversation rather then Manson mumbling about something off topic.

Yup. That was one of the best Talking Dead episodes. Both guests were witty, intellectual and just plain interesting to listen to. I choose to forget Manson was even on. God that was atrocious.

Best episode of the season and very happy the whole flue thing is in the past. Happy that the Governor is back as he was the reason last season was the best of the series.

You know, I liked the Governor and I really like David Moriessey but I really didn't like the ending either. The 3 previous episodes have honestly been some of the best of the entire series, the mood of the entire Walking Dead show has changed. It's become a tenser show, a slower show, it's really well paced. I forget who took over as show runner but he seems to be doing a good show. The Walking Dead has really had a hard time knowing what type of show it is. They've tried to walk the line between cartoony fun violence and this tenser more dramatic thriller style.
Maybe if they continue with this style, the Governor might actually work a whole lot better in season 4.

I agree that it's been a lot slower but I don't know about tense outside of the last episode. Everyone's opinion's differ but I haven't cared for this season outside of the last episode. I think we all knew no main characters would die from the flue so watching these nameless characters die one by one wasn't to me tense. I feel when the show gets too slow it starts to get overly sappy and soap opera like. The writing and acting isn't strong enough to sustain prolonged periods of slow pacing. IMO it's at its best when it's in full action mode like last episode. Obviously it's a bit much to expect every episode to be all action but the show needs to have a good dose of action mixed in to break up the slow stretches.

I agree about the nameless characters getting killed off not being very tense. In fact, when they brought in all those people from Woodbury at the end of the last season I knew something 'bad' would happen cause they were setting themselves up to kill off a bunch of people without having to kill off main characters.
But I do think the mood and pacing has been better. Plus, you can't have a good pay off like this recent episode without a bit of a build to it. The slower the build, the more the anticipation, the better it is (within reason of course).
As for the guv', I did really like the actor, I just thought the writing around him, and the whole Woodbury set up, was poor and nonsensical at times. It was like how people have complained about the characters in this series being inconstant. But he did have some of the best scenes last season. It was just hard to get behind him, even as a villain as his motivations and even style seemed inconsistent.
We'll see if it gets any better this time around.

How many shows have had a main villain disappear for an extended period only to re-surface? Like, more than a full season without him? It's an extremely effective way to hook an audience. If the governor had re-appeared next season, for example, just a shot of his face would be enough of a cliffhanger for a mid-season finale. Right now it's like "Oh, he was gone for a couple of episodes but now he's back". Really needed to give it some time to build up.

I just started watching this on Netflix. Through season 2 now. Glad the one guy is gone.
Looking forward to season three, hoping that this series doesn't pull a True Blood and get more goofy each season.

I've been getty antsy for them to get out of the prison (soon they will be there longer than the farm). More so because I like the scavaging parts.

I hope we're talking about the same guy, although I suspect we are not.
I thought the Shane character was over-written as the season wore on. Angry face, rub bald head, angry face, rinse, repeat.

Agreed. I preferred their more nomadic ways from earlier seasons. It also gave the sense that they were looking for something. I would like to see them get out of this semi-contented state and do something with a goal. I guess I have been ruined by Breaking Bad, but I really want to be able to visualize some kind of end goal, be it a cure or reconnecting with some massive group of survivors or whatever. It seems like this could drag out into something like a situation-drama where it is all about the weekly trials and tribulations of living in the zombie apocalypse.

It definitely makes for more drama and excitement for them to be on the run all the time venturing into new places, meeting new friends and foes, etc. I tend to believe though for realism sake once they found relatively safe confines they would stay there as long as possible but I'm sure there will be events that trigger a necessity to move eventually.

It's believable that they would seek safe confines.
It's unbelievable they wouldn't do more to fortify their location once they'd found it.
A bunch of zombies leaning on the fence is what does them in?
Lame.

The prison setting has been beaten to death by now (no pun intended). This season has been incredibly poor, every episode almost feels like a repeat of the last. The show is starting to lose me now. Even the return of the governer doesn't do much for me, they spent an entire season battling him, then stuck around the prison for a bit, and now he's back? What, no new ideas? The story just seems way to stationary to me now, not enough moving it forward.

I'd like to see them on a houseboat in one of those Georgia lakes. Do the walkers float their way over, or walk on the bottom?

Bloat 'n' Float
I'd kind of like to see another trip to Atlanta or some big city. They seem like they just gave up hope on anything except merely surviving.

That radio signal they quickly got but couldn't understand I hope isn't Governor related. If they believe it's a bigger group of survivors that resembles some sense of civilization, maybe in Atlanta, it could give them some new hope and a goal. Or could just be a rehash of Woodbury.
I also enjoyed the illness plot line. I like the focus on the obstacles that would exist in this type of world and that's absolutely something that should be prevalent. Maybe not a super disease, but drinking dirty water, spoiled food, even scraps and cuts could become life threatening. Throw in the zombies and there should be enough conflict that there doesn't need to be this pure evil being in the Governor. I wouldn't mind if at one point this group of survivors become the morally ambiguous group and in order to survivor become the "bad guys" to another group who turned them away from their haven.

You, of course are entitled to your opinion. I regrettably disagree.
I really don't know what people expect of this show.
