It's pretty clear they're going to go forward in life preaching these 'alternative facts' to others. To me that's the real danger

Right, because I object it must be something about me. It can't have anything to do with the ridiculousness of it.
You would think that people would be smart enough to not think the bolded part but some do. And they breed while instilling this nonsense in their offspring.

Well yeah you're getting so worked up over it so it does kind of seem like it's about you.
People are going to believe whatever they want about religion, for me I don't really care what they think. Clearly for you it bothers you much more and that's fine. I think it's silly that it bothers you so much, which is why I asked why it bothers you.
If people are weak minded enough to have their values and beliefs skewed by this article I'm not too worried about it.

Maybe I'm too cynical but I feel like the chances they're playing up the "good christian kids" angle for the media are pretty high considering the criticism they faced when this happened.

Of course. I find that Christians are some of the worst people when it comes to making bad decisions and poor life choices because they have this ingrained belief that if something goes wrong or they get caught they can just repent their sins and be all good again.

Now you're just making up what fits whatever narrative you're crafting. It is possible to approach topics from a critical examination standpoint without getting worked up. I'm not worked up, I assure you.
I don't care what they think or believe. I would rather have society progress rather being stuck in philosophies formulated before science was a thing. Hanging out the Jesus banner in the newspaper only serves to reinforce the beliefs of those stuck in the echo chamber. It doesn't force people to examine themselves and question ideas. I think you are being silly for implying that I'm worked up over it.

This information does cast a different light on the recklessness of the act. They were initially more cautious, and the calamity came about because of a combination of pushing things farther because earlier runs were quite manageable, and the bad luck of the track being switched. It was still reckless, but not as outrageously reckless as was first made out.

Oh what a load of crap.
People everywhere make bad decisions. These guys don't seem any different from any other group of teens out doing dumb things aside from their faith. They are owning their mistake and testifiyng how they are getting through it. Let people believe what they want, and who are you guys to state categorically that they are wrong. You realize there's no real proof that there isn't a God either right?

That's not proof, that's just God acting in mysterious ways, for, uhm, reasons. Reasons you shouldn't expect an answer too, just have faith that he knows what he is doing, and is totally not an #######.

Yeah, and are these nice, good Christian kids going to get sued by Winsport and their insurance company?

This is all terribly sad, and I get that their faith is a coping mechanism, but it's also totally delusional. Hopefully one day these kids see that, and realize their actions alone control their life outcome, not how hard they pray.

Not only that, none of them are thanking or mentioning the emergency medical staff who saved their lives.

To me, it seems even more reckless than I originally thought, not less. They had done it before, with helmets and lights the first time. Then they purposely and willfully chose to go back again without lights or helmets, piled on together with the express purpose for increased momentum and speed, and brought in more people for the thrill and escalation.

Whether or not God exists their belief in God is clearly is helping them cope with a traumatizing event. Their faith appears to be having a positive affect on them being able to live normal lives after the event.

Good for them. I'm sure opiate addicts also have no trouble with insomnia either.
