It's an expression to say "think out of the box".
I took that saying to the next dimension.

Mines just an old (basically defunct) nickname. Someone thought that I played like Slava Kozlov and we share a first name...nothing to crazy.
I have been eagerly awaiting Cerebral to share his story here...how exactly an oilers fan gets that handle is beyond me!

I knew that from my kids. I was reading one of the threads, with them looking over my shoulder and they both cracked up when they saw your name. They love it.

I became a Flames fan living in Montana and watching the old 2 & 7 broadcasts on the Lethbridge station (is that 2 or 7?) that we used to get on cable in the Flathead.
Then I moved...and became displaced.
If I ever move back I will have to change my name.

One of my stoner friends thought she was being clever when we were sitting in my buddy's car one day (think I was about 16 at the time). She started calling me a rube and then it somehow escalated from there. Signed up for something on the internet a few weeks later and that came to mind. Been using it ever since, mainly because it's easier to just try to remember one username.

Cerebral was the name of an old IDM musician I used to listen to many years back (way back when Audiogalaxy was the way to snag free music). He essentially made all of his music on a laptop but I still really enjoyed a lot of it - it kind of had a post-rock feel to it and I'm still trying to find a lot of his old songs.
I made the jump from Cerebral to Mogwai/Sigur Ros and that consequently led to me finding a whole bunch of amazing bands that essentially guided my future music tendencies.
I needed a name to register for Heat.net (I used to play Quake 2 online quite a bit) and it was the first thing that came to mind. That was probably back in 1998 or 1999 and I've stuck with it since then.

My name is Evan.
When creating my first hotmail account in 1998 at 12 years old I thought "evman" was a cool play on my name, but of course evman@hotmail.com was taken, so I added my favourite number, 15. But evman15@hotmail.com was taken too, so I added a zero. Then I used evman150 for everything for a few years, including my CP name in 2002. More recently I have grown up into evank15, which is my name on 2+2 (other major board I post on).

I'm a Flames Fan that lives in Vancouver. Technically, North Vancouver, but NORTHVANFLAMESFAN was just a little too long. Not sure why I went with all capitals, but I like it, it stands out.
