Shaw has had Exchange email for a year and a half, at least, likely 2 years.

Again, needs to be able to work with a Shaw email using exchange active sync.

I have honestly had no luck finding a better app for email than the stock one. Cloud magic is alright but all emails run through their server, it works but seems sketchy to me. K9 is OK but doesn't support Shaw active sync. I use Touchdown for my corporate email but it doesn't support extra accounts. It is really great but pricey, $20 I think. It is free with a enterprise server.
If you find one let me know.

Oh right...I switched because Shawmail via EAS doesn't work with Outlook 2013.

I have 3 addressed linked up to touchdown right now, but it's doesn't exactly work smoothly. Will only give you push notifications for one address at a time, whichever others that aren't 'active' you'd have to manually check for messages. Pretty annoying. Or maybe I just haven't found the settings to properly configure different inboxes. Still the best email app I've found though.

Had an idea!

Cloud Magic is the simplest to use, but I don't like the idea of my work email going through their servers.
Touchdown is simply ripping people off. Can't believe anyone would pay $20 for an email app. I don't care how well it works.

Using aquamail right now. I find the stock gmail app loses it's mind far too often and says sync is off line. I don't have that problem with 3rd party clients. Only thing I don't like about aqua is it's missing the same gestures the native google app has. No swiping the message to delete it.

I have to secure my work email with mobileiron and I believe that is why I cannot add more accounts to Touchdown.
Auquamail is alright and it says it will configure Shaw accounts but I was never able to get it to work. Honestly I end up using Touchdown for corporate and the stock AOSP client for the rest.

mighty text released a new chrome extension for within gmail. it integrates mightytext into your gmail and its pretty awesome. my favourite functions so far are startins SMS's within gmail, and also the little hud showing battery life. love the synergy here.

Out There is an excellent app to buy. It's similar to FTL but without the space combat. It's exploration focused and really enjoyable so far.

Thanks for this thread. I jumped from the Apple ship almost a year ago and bought the HTC One. This thread has been a great help.
Disregard the rest. Figured it out.

While this is applicable to iOS users as well, meh.
TSN updates their app to include live streaming to TSN/TSN2 for Bell/Rogers TV customers. They say they'll be 'adding more broadcast partners...in the future'.
Not sure how many people still use Bell TV but lucky me I guess? Video quality is actually pretty good. Not much in the way of stuttering with a decent connection (both wifi/cellular). No options to pause the live content but being able to watch Wednesday night hockey away from home is pretty nice.

Brand new to Android and am wondering if someone could give me a quick list of the must-have's rather than scouring 600+ posts. Thanks!

I'm on 4.4.2 and it seems to work just fine. I don't have live streaming access but everything else works.

Greenify is amazing, I've started using it recently and it's saved my battery time. Apps like Tango, Facebook, WhatsApp were constantly starting and then restarting in the backround, ruining my battery. Greenify hibernates them and problem solved.
What phone and version of Android are you running, sevenarms?
Some of these will already be on iOS and you might have them, some of them might be already installed with Android, can't remember.
Anyways...
-Duolingo
-Dropbox
-Greenify
-Google Keep
-Keeper (password keeper)
-Light Flow
-Muzei (amazing live wall paper app)
-Pocket Casts
-Quick Office
-SwiftKey
-Timely
-TuneIn Radio
-YYC 311
-Zedge (ring tones, wallpapers)

I just got a Nexus 5 and have already gotten some of these but knew I was missing a couple great ones.
Awesome, thanks for all the suggestions!
