Look into staying at the flying pig downtown asap. i stayed there and it was worth it. if you care about sleep then maybe not. i usually got back to the hostel around 1-2am and then had a quick washup and then chilled at the hostel till 5-6am. good atmosphere.

The Bulldog was pretty decent too. It is on the street right next to the Red Light District. A bit expensive though.

A car in Amsterdam is madness. There is a reason that all the locals ride bikes. We drove from Brugge to the NH Hotel in Central Amsterdam. The GPS said we were 2.5 km away and I think it still took us half an hour to get to the hotel.

I stayed there, its okay, good party place but dirty as hell and the staff were nothing to write home about. Not one of the better hostels I have stayed in, but the city itself is awesome.

Smoke a little dope, go to the Van Gogh muesum, smoke some more, then to the Rijks muesum, then smoke more and go see the Anne Frank house....now there is a good time for you! Van Gogh Muesum is pretty awesome IMO, dont miss that. Heini brewery tour is cool too - torture musuem is funny.
