Except they're not allowed to wear jeans and a t-shirt either so I fail to see the discrimination. If you held religious beliefs that required you to wear jeans and a t-shirt, your employer would have to accomodate you. It's not a race thing, it's a charter thing.

So...from this we can extrapolate that you are also Arab?
....Get him....?

they are likely immersed in the culture of the country in which they live while at public school while remaining attached to their own family culture at home. that is awesome...don't live in Airdrie FYI

There's a lot of generalization going on about a city of 1.2 million people in here.

Well since my mother and father are also both Arabs as well as all my cousins, aunts, uncles and grand parents...I think your extrapolation is correct.
Back on topic though, Airdie is a massive dump and I rarely see my Arab brother because it's painful to go there. In short, Airdie stole my bro.

Of course it's not a race thing. I never said it was. I don't think anyone gets any privileges based on race alone, except when it comes to initial hiring (diveristy and inclusion metrics for some companies).
Unless we're talking parts of the US, I don't even think 'race' is that relevant anymore.
'Culture' & 'Relgion' are still very relevant, but in my personal experience and in my own mind, I think 'race' is not. If people, from ALL backgrounds, would stop talking about it, it would go away... but they won't.

I tend to find that there is a wide range of beliefs amongst every ethnic group. Living with only the same ethnicity might actually increase the chances that you live among people that have different beliefs.
Personally, I love to live in a diverse community, with many different cultures. Like others have said, people of all cultures in my community participate in Halloween, etc.

if someone said their religious beliefs where to wear a t-shirt and jeans there is zero chance that would fly

thats great, my friends in Calgary get four or five trick or treaters and when I lived in Airdrie we had 200 or more. From my experience Airdrie is a more family oriented community. All the neighbors knew each other, got together for BBQ's, looked out for each others kids ect.

Most years in our house we've had 120-140, on a quiet street.
People knowing each other is more of a street to street thing, never mind a community to community thing, never mind a city to city thing.

dino7c. You gotta stop representing Airdrie. Your making us look bad. yeah damn redneck. I can vouch that it's not as racist as this moron is. For example I met a black kid at a party once. We had a good time.
