HABS got the shaft in this deal big time. I'd be sick to my stomach if I was a Habs fan.

I wonder what people's reaction would be on here had we traded gio for subban. I would have been pretty damn ecstatic, and thats not a knock on gio

You are wrong.

As much as fans around here are commenting that moving Hall was addition by subtraction, there were clearly some serious locker room issues in Montreal too. Doesn't make Subban the bad guy, but it seems like the rift among the players needed to be addressed. I expect the Habs will be a better team in the short term.
Also, it's worth noting that Weber was a top defenceman on the last Team Canada while Subban didn't dress. So Therrien isn't the only coach who has more faith in Weber than Subban.

The first move Therrien made as coach was banning the Subban/Price triple low 5 after scoring a goal - because it wasn't fitting in a Habs jersey.
And it's been downhill from there for PK, when it comes to the coach

From an organization perspective, Mike Fisher is the big community guy in Nashville, for obvious reasons. But he's aging and only has a year or two left of good hockey.
PK in Nashville? Wow. This is going to be a home run for the Preds off the ice. Once they let PK loose into that market it's going to go nuts.
Love the move from Nashville's perspective.

Brad should try to get Price for Elliott.

Montreal is my team in the east, I am good with it. If Mike Babcock would rather have Weber, that's good enough for me. I can't believe people are comparing this to Roy for a bag of pucks, thats absurd.

I'd be ####ing thrilled, and if we traded him for Weber I'd be catatonic.

Weber has 10 years left on his contract. Actual dollars paid out are reasonable though, I suppose.

I expect the Montreal media also played a role as everything is sensationalized in that market. I feel Subban comes out a winner here as he will be a good ambassador in that market and he's going to be relatively free from the media scrutiny of Montreal. As for Weber I imagine he will do fine for a couple of seasons but it will be a matter of time until the media and fans jump on him as his game slides.

If Weber is a possession black hole at age 30, what will he be at age 35?
My good god.

Wait a year. They'll need someone to blame for the 2016-17 season going off the rails, and Price fulfills the two requirements - he's English, and he's part of a minority group.

Yes, yes, but what does Jim Benning think about all of this?

It's always fun to be the spectator of such trade tragedies and not a victim.
