Unfortunately, the Canucks had a chance to win their first Cup and they blew it. During that finals with the Bruins, they were up 2-0 in the series and they couldn't find a way to win at the Garden and they lost pretty badly in all of them on the road. I think from the 3rd or 4th game in the series that I said that the Canucks WILL NEVER win the Cup if they had lost game 4. So, the Sedins will exit the NHL just like Markus Naslund and Matt Sundin without winning a Cup in their career.

Also, with the help of the big blabber mouth of Don Cherry, the Bruins showed how easily it is to beat the Canucks by playing the Sedins hard into the boards. Worked for every team that played against them in the playoffs ever since. I don't like the Canucks but it's kind of getting a bit ridiculous that no Canadian teams have won a Cup since 1993 - that's almost a quarter century!

Theres lots of great players that dont win the Cup, that doesnt make their achievements any less impressive.

The fact that they've played for 20 years is impressive in and of itself.

Poor old Matt Sundin. Never won a cup, and always overshadowed by his hall of fame brother.

They got caught up in the Kessler/Burrows embellishment/diving escapade era which is really the only thing I can hold against them. Otherwise they have been really classy players and while they won't get their cup they can hang their hats on a couple of really good careers.

I hate when Player's Tribune articles are posted because it invariably leads me down a wormhole and I end up on it for hours...
