Based on the early showings, there is absolutely no way Mason Raymond makes a team where they are letting guys who earn a job keep a job. He still has time in camp to keep his job, but he really needs to step it up...I mean big time. There's no justification in keeping him over Bennett, Granlund, Ferland, Shore, or even an injured Byron.
What you do is send him down, humble him a little, hope he finds his game, and make him earn a call up. If not, you have to eat his salary or buy him out in the off-season. If he does make it back and play decently, you now have another contributing forward or at least someone who could be traded.
Plus, having a veteran or two among the forwards in Stockton is never a bad thing.

Ya Raymond has not proven his worth at all on this team, like others have posted, I too got pissed off in his interview saying he hasn't done anything different in the off season. Bury him in the farm team, or just buy him out, there is no spot on this team for people who half ass it and make over 3 million doing so. Sick of this guy, he has got to go.

Sticking him in Stockton is probably the best way to go. We can bury his salary since he won't be picked up, and opens up a spot on the team for a guy who's earned it. I'm sure he wouldn't mind the California sun.

^ you can't bury salaries anymore. He counts against the cap same as if he was on the big club. But you kill his already negative value by sending him down.

No Brodie now so I'll guess:
Gio - Hamilton
Russell - Wideman
Wilson - Nakladal
Engelland
hoping Wotherspoon makes top 7 though while Brodie is out.

If he's sent down, I think that's it. Not too many guys get the message and make the comeback (like Setoguchi). Raymond isn't the bust Setoguchi is, but he does need to step it up. His problem is that he can't be an effective 4th liner - he can't play physically, and isn't an energy guy like Byron/Ferland/Jooris and he seems to need the ice time to get points (and he can't get that time on this team).

Bolded are the changes I would make. Otherwise spot on.
Hoping to hear something about Billy Arnold soon. I feel like he can take Stajans job out of camp.

Something just has to give here. I don't see them keeping all these NHLers and not moving someone before the season starts if the young guys keep impressing.

As much as Hartley and Treliving say they don't want to go with 3 goalies, I wouldn't mind keeping a 3 man rotation until a trade market opens up with a serious injury to another teams goalie.

You think were waiving Bollig and Jones? That's not happening. Granlund will be sent down, Byron will be exposed to waivers and not picked up. As for Mason Raymond? Stockton here we come! Trades could happen but doubtful.
Signing Ryan Wilson? Not so sure we do that. I am not against it persay, he has played well. We have options though without adding his contract. He has not played lights out. He has been solid. Wotherspoon has been solid too, Kulak has really impressed, Nakladal prior injury looked just fine too. We don't need to sign him, yet if we do we really have some issues when Brodie comes back and possibly Smid. Wilson has earned a contract in my mind, just don't think he will get that contract on the Flames. I think a 2 way contract will be offered and refused. I think another team will give him a better opportunity than we provide.

Might take some time to click but Johnny/Mony are way too skilled and they need to learn to play without Hudz. Who better to lineup with them than a physical force who happens to be am underrated skater/shooter.
We all saw what Hudler did for Johnny/Mony last year, him and his chezkmate can hopefullt groom the young Jedi into a superstar.
Bouma is one of our better defensive forwards and he can shoot. Jooris is the same with wheels and Backlund can do it all when he's clicking.
I don't want to put Granlund on the fourth line but man what a fourth line this would be! Stajan is probably our most underrated player, he sometimes looks like the best player on the ice. The key to this line is energy, all three guys bring a ton of it and I just think they could be one of the most dangerous fourth lines in the league and could be a real secret weapon for us in today's "roll four lines" NHL.
Gio-Hamilton
Russell -Wideman
Engelland -Kulak
I wanted Gio/Brodie to stay together but I also wanted this dream pairing, guess the hockey gods decided that for us.
If ain't broke......altho when Brodie is healthy I think he should line up with Russell.
Kulak to me looks like the most NHL ready out of the youngsters.

Man who would have thought that many of our lineups would include Kulak this close to the start of the season! I think none of us had him in the summer.

I think that's how the top 6 shapes up but I think Jones is a lock for somewhere on the bottom 6. He's big, can skate and has a good shot. He had Stajan were good together in the playoffs as well. He probably replaces Granlund on your 4th line

What makes you think David Jones will/should be waived? He was decent last season, and even better in the playoffs. Unless injured, he'll absolutely be on the team to start the year.
And Raymond will likely be given the Setoguchi treatment. Starts on the team and gets a few weeks to prove himself. If he doesn't work out, he'll be waived.

Here'smy semi-realistic list (not purely what I want, but moer a combo of that plus realism):
Gaudreau-Monahan-Hudler
Granlund-Backlund-Frolik
Ferland-Bennett-Colborne
Jooris-Stajan-Jones
Gio-Hamilton
Russell-Wideman
Wilson-Engelland
Ortio, Hiller
Press box: Shore, Bollig, Nakladl
A bit of rationale: I think Bennett will be sheltered on the so-called third line where he, Colborne (who has developed some good puck protection down low) and Ferland can cause some good forechecking havoc. I think Byron is the most likely to be waived because he was waived before. Raymond can easily be waived. If a deal could be made for Shore, then he gets moved and Byron stays.
I think Wilson and Nakladl are guys who can shift in and out and Treliving doesn't worry about them not getting ice time to develop.
