It's a lot cooler with four arms than three...

I also think it's perfect that Gretzky lit the torch.

I'm amazed that the cauldron wasn't a big burning man statue stuffed with damned dirty hippies.

OMG, stupid announcers, they swapped the torch 3 minutes before you commented that it was the same torch and reaching its life expectancy.

Gotta give Gretzky credit there, he kept smiling. Mostly.

You'd think that with 30 years of planning a parade that never happens, Vancouver should be able to execute that a little better.

Agreed. Awesome thread, improved the experience tremendously. Me and a couple of friends laughed to the point of tears from a few posts.

Isn't it closer to 40 years?

Alright - easily the best CP thread of the past year. Win, Win, Brilliance, Win, etc.

The Ceremony wasn't perfect and certainly had some (put bluntly) stupid moments, but overall, quality. One clap for Vancouver.

Logistical farce.
Driving 10-15 blocks, with one cop car and security that's tighter at the Vancouver Marathon, for the Olympic Torch?

Gretzky looked unimpressed...also looked like he had no way back after he lit the aluminum foil.
