These last few entries are awesome. I've gotta get one of those lightning sensors. Really cool lightning shots, Chris!

Im trying to learn portraits a bit. Here's my grandfather. Criticism and tips welcome.

Recently got back from a trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. I didn't take my dSLR because it was heavy and I was worried about it getting stolen. Kind of regretted that decision while I was there, but I got a couple of good ones nonetheless.

I'll start with some from Cambodia.

I would not want to work for Vietnam telecom. The speaker is used for broadcasting propaganda.

I watched two documentaries on “The Knowledge Network” a few weeks back and immediately thought of posting a link to them in this thread. For the life of me I couldn’t find the thread. Since it has magically reappeared I’ll try again.
The first one is about a German immigrant, Fred Herzog, who used Kodachrome to shoot Vancouver in the 50’s IIRC. Now I don’t know a lot about photography but to me his work is genius.
The second is another Vancouver photographer, Michael Levin, who films in black and white.
When you arrive at the website just click “full Length” under their names. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Went down to Seattle for Friday and Saturday, got to see the Mariners play Friday night. Took some pictures with my iPhone and made a panorama with it. Not half bad for iPhone pictures:

Considering all the lines and subjects in the photo, it's a great pano.

My Green Valley shot (just above) is a 10 image panorama @ 17mm and f/10

we had a good bit of rain last night - so this morning they had to get the rain off the cherries - to reduce the chance of splitting and soften where the stem goes into the cherry (if that spot gets soft the cherry falls to the ground)....

when the helicopter was right down by the road a bunch of vehicles stopped - i guess the drivers were anticipating an emergency landing or something
