For someone more recent there's Darren McCarty. Tootoo is definitely an enforcer, that he can play a little and isn't big, guys like him and Prust are enforcers. That they may want to get rid of him, just means that he isn't producing like they want but it still means that they wanted and saw a need for his type of services. That Detroit has had some success with a flawed lineup, doesn't mean that is the way to go. Anyways Detroit without an enforcer haven't been shrinking violets, they are plenty physical and dirty, running goalies without having to answer because they won't fight and the refs let them get away with it. This is just another argument for getting rid of the instigator rule as the league won't do anything.
