I have a friend that works for Wrigley.
I've asked him to keep an eye out for spikes in Skittle sales in the region.
I'll keep everyone posted.

Not panicking, but at what point does not signing and coming to camp become a hold out?

Maybe he's waiting for the new International Terminal to open. I really hate that walk to Customs.

So long as he avoids United. They are the worst. Even worse than Air Canada!

I might be the only one here not worried, he doesn't really need training camp and there's no way his hockey loving soul will miss game one of the season. Not a chance. Monahan's hurt too so he has no linemate to rush home for, he's just using what leverage he has now to set himself up for life.

When will you start being worried AcGold? How many preseason games in?

Game one of the regular season. He was dominant during the tournament, said he's been training everyday so he's ready to play already. He's not in it for just money so I'd be shocked if he missed game one over contract disputes.

Sure, if your only concern is his playing ability.
I think that's the least of everyone else's concerns.

Oh sweet summer child. Pretending Gaudreau isn't just another player playing the great game. I envy you really.

Ridiculous non-sequitur aside it's obvious he didn't sign before the tournament because he felt he was worth more than he was offered. He went and proved he was right and now he's using his performance as leverage in a contract negotiation.
He's just as human as everyone else but he's got way more leverage than most players ever get because he went from an unknown to a superstar. Such a unique scenario results in todays situation. What's he going to do, put on a world class performance and dominate elite NHL players then take less than he's worth just so he can rush back to training camp to skate circles around the prospects?
Gulutzans coaching philosophies are public, I've studied them so I'm pretty sure Gaudreau already knows most of Gulutzans ideas.
