What's going on with Hyka? Philly was ready to offer him a pro contract just last summer.

Wouldn't mind Ebert if he's still there when we pick next. One bad season at 18 and the guy fell from top 10 to the 5/6 round.

Grant Besse or Carter Rigby are good ideas for the Flames. Besse is Gaudreau exactly.
Rigby is a big fighter that shocked when it became apparent that he has skill.

So far, 3 defensemen, 1 goalie, and 1 centre.
Here's hoping for a couple of forwards in the last two rounds.

Hilarous to just hear Button downplay the link to the Pens making a big swap, given the fact that they are drafting at home, and would get a popular reaction from that.
This is the GM who went off the board to go ahead and draft Brent Krahn when the draft was in Calgary, simply because he played with the Hitmen. Now I realize that there wasn't a lot in that draft, but it was clear, even at the time, that it was more a feel good PR move for the host city than a hard hockey decision.
I remember that Saturday 12 years ago this week, cold and rainy day, and although I've never been a draft guy, could see the transparency a mile away, especially when the highly casual fans I was with at the time were gushing about the pick, only knowing he played for the Hitmen and not knowing a name of any other player around him that could've been/was drafted.

Craig Button had zero to do with Brent Krahn.

yeah, I'd be shocked if they didn't take two forwards now. Hyka still available, I'd love it if we took him.

And then when the fans did chant for the Flames to draft Matt Pettinger in round 2 or 3, Calgary traded with Washington in order to get Tickle Me Elomo instead.

Toronto took Ryan Rupert. Burke sure loves to draft twins ... I wouldn't be shocked if he took his brother Matt late in the 7th round.
