Either way, still love it! Now just draft Dalton Thrower (preferably) or Matt Finn and the first 2 rounds are best case scenario.

You're welcome.
Also, your math is as bad as your English. 2012 - 2002 = 10 years.

I believe Calgary Puck in this incarnation has only been around 10 years, prior to that is was around in an other incarnation.

There was a board change over in 2001. I've been posting since CP was in the tree format. Even before it was hosted on Cadvision.
you are useless. go can away now.

Awww muffin. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. Thanks for clearing up how long you've been posting. It is truly the mark of how awesome you are.
This is just one more reason that no good can come from listening to Russell Peters.
As for actual, on-topic material, I really enjoyed how well spoken Jankowski was in the interview. Most hockey interviews have a lot of uhhhs and cliches. This guy spoke like he payed attention in school. It'll be a while before he joins the big club, but I'm excited to see what he can do.
For McGuire and the rest who were saying that Teuvo and Maatta should have been taken by Calgary at 14, other teams must have thought the same as Calgary, since they didn't pick them that high either.

Thrower is the guy I want at 32 for the Oilers! Solid player.

Oilers and 3-4 other teams tried to move up into the 2nd half of the 1st round all on the same player but were unsuccessful. Wonder who the player was? Teuvo or Maatta would be my guesses.
Oh and Pittsburgh got Pouliot and Maatta on the backend. Solid draft for them (in addition to the trade with Carolina).

So I guess my hope is for Collberg at 42, although I think it's unlikely he's there, but what the hell do I know.

Draft Pick

Also I have talked to two ohl execs and two nhl scouts all of whom agree Greg Nemisz is going to be a solid nhl player in the future, they generally agreed his upside is somewhere between a 2nd and 3rd liner, but that his utility makes him even more valuable

Why did Pierre say the Staal trade was a 'pure' hockey trade? Is there usually a NBA player involved or something?

I may be misreading your post, but generally a pure hockey trade is an expression used to describe a trade where contracts, business, marketing, etc, are not a factor. Ie, it is a trade based purely on each team attempting to enhance their hockey team as it is on the ice.
Whether that is the case or not here is debatable, but that is what he is suggesting.

When are contracts not a factor in hockey trades these days?

I think it was because under the cap system there si so many other factors other than the players value at play. This was a cap where there wasn't, it was a trade where a player got their value and things like salary dumps weren't involved.

So thankful that guy isn't on weekly broadcasts anymore in this country. His over the top schtick is unbearable after about half an hour.
Every player in the first round was a "perfect fit" for every team, and its "Jimmy Rutherford and Freddy Shero and Donny Meehan" and any other hockey exec or coach name he can squeeze in and name drop and suck up to on TV, in his continued attempt to try and get in the club as an NHL GM.
Except, of course, he's upset for the Flames incredulously not picking Maata at 14...low and behold, Maata is still there at 21, but Jankowski's uncle is friends with Pierre so suddenly its all ok and Maata is long forgotten.

I am guessing because the Philadelphia GM was saying the same thing. He said it during a TSN interview.
Not sure why everyone's all over Maguire (not you specifically, but the other posters). Guy was fine. I think hockey fans are indoctrinated to dislike any type of personality in the sport. The players are a boring, dumb as nails bunch, so the sportscasters should be too.
