I had read about this kid and was intrigued, if people want picks in upside this fits and I'm quite certain another team would have grabbed him soon, so moving down and getting a 2nd seems smart

I said back at that interview thing for Sportsnet that I was hoping for Jankowski and KevanGuy was like Who.
I am thrilled, absolutely thrilled with this pick. 10/10 Flames. This guy will be the first line center that we have been waiting for since Nieuwy

So based on that interview this Jankowski kid won't be with the Flames for 3 years. Going the NCAA route.

Don't like the long term aspect of it, but other than that, I guess we'll have to see. Still wanted Teuvo

Well.. not a fan of picking guys who play against weak competition. But I haven't seen the guy.. so can't say much.

Baertischi, Jankowski, and Gaudreau will light it up in the 2017 Stanley Cup Final.

Like the philosophy, if you look at TSN projection it is to be a first/second line center compared to most of the other players around that point are checking centers.
I like feasters comment that this was the guy they were picking at 14 so moved down to keep him. Also like this pick because our 1st would have been traded for beans if he wasnt scouted by weisbrod.
So we got the same player we would have at 14 at 21 and added a 2nd round pick. That is good asset management

I like this pick and I am good with the move down as we wanted him all along. This guy may be a bust, but I love that his upside might be franchise C - much better than picking a safe 3rd liner like Gaunce... I would have been ok with Maata too...

Yeah. But at least they got who they wanted.
And there's the second rounder to look forward to. Could even be Collberg who some have ranked in the middle of the first round.

Shame it had to come now, rather than the Flames recognizing him when the man was actually in the building in January...instead opting for a "Welcome back" vignette for Cammalleri's first home game.

He has Quebec connections, thus his out clause to Quebec and Calgary out of his Swiss contract.
