Our bank is below 7.90% on our new car rate. With a floating rate it's around 4-5%.

apparently it has something to do with the year 2012 and the end of the Mayan Calender. The polarization of the earth is going to switch and as we move closer to that date, the "slightly different turn signal beats" start to change.
I have no friggin clue either....sorry, cant help ya there.

It is going to depend on what flasher module is in the vehicle, different manufacturers might make a slightly different noise or flash at a different rate. If both used OEM (factory) parts they should sound/behave the same. If one has an aftermarket flasher module that might explain it.

I will add that used car prices are actually on their way up.. There is a real shortage of good used stuff right now. as an example this time last year there was 2600 cars on the Adessa dealerblock.. right now there are about 1200

Thanks to both of you... just to follow-up: you both mentioned auction sites -- is there a way to find prices for "completed auctions"? Also, for consumers (who primarily deal with dealers and/or private sales versus auctions), would the best bet to research be to look at comparables on autotrader, etc and then including a slight discount?

Ebay Motors should have completed listings which is somewhat useful

The Adesa auction is for dealers only. General public is not allow to participate. They do provide us with a list of completed auction pricing.
Having said that, I would agree with the other person here when you are looking at comparitive pricing, canada trader is likely your best bet. I find ebaymotors difficult as most vehicles are out of the US. again, some of those vehicles sell at retail while others are at wholesale.
In this market its really tough to guage the value of a vehicle. As I mentioned earlier, its whatever the market is dictating at this point. I have been blown away at what some dealers are paying for vehicles and wonder to myself how can they possible make any money at those prices, but they seem to be doing just fine.
If you are lookin at a specific vehicle, PM me and maybe I can help you out with some pricing. Just remember its a guideline only.

This might help...

Could be a switch switch in the middle of a production run.

I think it depends on the flasher that's installed, which is generally in the fusebox area. I've replaced flashers on cars - I must admit mostly on older vehicles so this may be outdated advice - and there has been some variance in cadence, even though I've purchased an identical flasher for the same vehicle.

Noticed a 4-5inch crack on the front passenger side bumper of my car the other day, Started to make some rattling noises and thats when I found that out, likely due to the icy roads
Dealer/Autobody shop recommend getting a new bumper which comes to ~$800 ,
any other ideas? its a pretty new car (2008). It's in a really inconspicuous location, would automobile repair kits/glue from Canadian tire do the trick? Basically just want the rattling to stop and the crack to not get any bigger. Nothing's ripped off, it just split at one point.

I was in Germany a couple of weeks ago and the new wagon looks great though..

The GLK is not a bad looking crossover (hints of a previous generation forester), but no manual tranny kind of sucks. Maybe they should bring the diesel version over here...

I wish we had more sticks as well.. but really they don't sell for us at all. Everyone wants a stick untill i have one here in stock.

Need to buy a new people mover for the family. I'm looking hard at the Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia.
Am I nuts to be looking at a GM product right now?
What is dealer invoice (ball park) on a GMC that stickers at $40K?
Thanks!

I would say you're pretty nuts...might as well go to vegas and blow your $40K
Have you considered a Hyundai Veracruz or Santa Fe? They have some pretty good deals going on right now.

I'm just old enough to remember the Hyundai Pony during its "glory" years. I'm afraid I just can't bring myself to even *think* about buying a Hyundai, regardless of the great reviews. I just can't do it...
