You are making up the "reasonable chance" commentary.

I read the exact same sentence and see "gonezo" and "probably before the deadline" and that makes me think 95% before the TDL and 5% after. The 5% is simply because no team may meet the price, there is a slim chance of that. Even in that 5% scenario, Andersson's rights can be traded for something before July 1st (see Marner last summer) - but the chance of getting to that point is very low and not reasonable to assume.

Conroy has demonstrated that he doesn't let players like Andersson walk for nothing and you are making up a narrative that is counter to the evidence with nothing to back it up.

Won't happen and entirely academic but what is the number where Andersson makes sense to retain?

I'm completely on board the trade him train, but hypothetically if he were like "Yea I'm willing to take an outrageous discount to be here", what does that number look like?

If he says 6 years at 5m you probably just sign him and trade someone else yea? How high does that number go before the Flames balk?

The statement was: (a) Andersson is gone (i.e. traded) and (b) it may not happen before the deadline (i.e. it may have to be a deadline day trade if the extension isn't worked out, so people need to keep their shirts on and not expect an early trade).

It was also that Kadri is clearly on the market.

Step 1) Andersson is gonezo
Step 2) Extension for the acquiring team is holding up things up and would be ideal to be done before the deadline

Extension for the acquiring team is impossible according to Rasmus himself. As Bingo said, he's not talking to his agent, so no one is discussing extensions.

So if we are waiting for that we will be waiting until summer.

Royle can clarify but I find this absolutely hilarious. Y'all are tripping over yourselves to insert substantial amounts of extra words to his post to make it serve your narrative. Similarly, I really only have to bold what he said.

Technically “before the deadline” means traded anytime before the trade deadline - including 1 minute before 4?est day of

And walking as a UFA is gonzo as well

That was recently hedged back. He'd reportedly do it for a couple teams. Once you open that crack, it's a new ball game.
