Put Kadri on that line and see how many points he gets. Put Knies between Frost and Farabee and see the same. How is that a difficult concept? People just were something similar about Roslovic FFS.

I think you should re-read what I actually said. Which was that Kniess will be better in a season or two. But isn't now.

Plus I've also said they aren't trading him because he's their only good young player.

Honestly, good point. Maybe Treliving is inadvertently doing us a solid and driving up Kadri's price.

So you have no proof of Kadri being better, the stats show Knies is significantly outplaying him but you’re saying Kadri is the better player because of a hunch?

Keep licking that bag, chief.

I really would like for the Flames to cash in on all 3 veteran players who are rumored to be on the block. I think if I were to prioritize moving them Andersson is 1, Coleman would be 2 and Kadri would be 3. Hearing Pierre and Frank talk about Coleman and his value I think their best chance to get a 1st for him is moving him this year with 50% retention. Next year I can see him getting a 2nd+ type return like Toffoli got for the Devils a couple years ago.

I think the org has an absolute glut of wingers especially left shot so Coleman empties out a logjam where Kadri fills a spot of need.

Really moving all 3 can set this group up asset wise to get very aggressive in the future in the trade market and/or build the best farm system in the league. Francis/Steinbery seemed to argue Coleman is the guy you keep and they shouldn’t move all 3

Nah he is better from today, not a year or two

You can’t say Knies can’t be better with the Farabee and Frost or whoever because Kadri is not doing #### with them. That’s a low bar to beat.

What do you mean no proof? There's plenty of proof of Kadri's ability. You are using a quarter season versus every other season each has played to make a comparison. A good player on a bad team with bad linemates scores less. Was Bennett always a crappy player who suddenly got good, or did playing with better linemates just put him where his potential was?

Is Knies better than Kyle Connor? Jason Robertson? Mitch Marner? Nikita Kucherov? Because if you just look at points in a vaccum and not the teams around them, that's the conclusion.

The only stats you are using are counting stats.

I think if you put Kadri on the wing of Matthews with Nylander on the other side, yeah, he'd be PPG. Kadri should have 6 more points just off of Farabee misses.

EDIT: plus don't a bunch of you claim Huska stifles offence?

Currently, Knies is better than everyone you’ve mentioned. That is a moving target that will change as the year goes on, however Knies is significantly younger and significantly outscoring Kadri. This is a slam dunk.

In a similar vein, do you believe Dryden Hunt is better than Leon Draisaitl? Just imagine how many points Hunt could have if he had McDavid as a linemate. Counting stats be damned!

And your opinion seems to be based entirely on pts, with an 18 game sample size.

Maybe gear down on throwing out the condescending comments.

Kadri is also a proven playoff performer, with 33 pts in 31 games in 2 recent runs.

Knies with 7 pts in 13 games last year

(on the topic of counting stats)

Other than an 18 game point sample, what evidence do you have of this?

Obviously Hunt isn't as good as Draisaitl. But then, I have evidence of each of their point totals away from McDavid.

I also have evidence of Kadri playing on a top line with really good players on an offensive minded team (when Mackinnon was out).

Of course, all that said, there's no good reason for Toronto to add a 2C, depending on Matthews' injury.

Throwing out Kadri's career stats in comparison to a 23 year old player doesn't seem too logical if we're trying to determine who's better now.

Hard not to notice that Knies is on a consistently upward trajectory so far in his career. Yeah of course he doesn't have Kadri's playoff success but 8 goals in 27 career playoff games for such a young player? Sign me up.

Can you quantify that into a statistic so GioforPM can ignore it? lol.

Last year Kadri had 67 points to Knies 58 (in four fewer games for Knies). That was Knies 2nd full season in the NHL, so maybe Knies was a bit worse last year but this year it’s not even close.

I see the apologist exodia is coming out, just need Jiri and Jayrandom. Counting stats stand no chance!

I have evidence this was nearly half a decade ago.

If that's in reference to my post on playoff points, it isn't career, it's his 2 most recent (excluding a 2 game set)

So 4 whole years?

Keep clinging to your 18 game sample size playing with regular all stars.

Yes dude, athletic performance drops off with age after a certain point. Kadri at 35 is a worse player than Kadri at 31. Age is just a counting stat so you’ll probably dismiss that too lol.
