I would put the 2027 1st on the table as well as the Vegas 1st and Zary. Would entertain more if need be including going unprotected on the pick.

Unprotected you would get him, a top 5 pick, another first and a young player. That is a hell of a package.

I think he's not getting the full opportunity he deserves and should be reaching the same levels Calrsson is this season.
If he ever became available, I would look at all options to get him, until the high 1st this year.
He's a big, skilled, strong skating, mean center that you build your entire team around.

Doubt Fantilli would ever be moved, but it begs the question if Kent Johnson would be.
I think he’s been playing winger lately, but he was originally a center, no?

It would be the type of move that speeds up the rebuild but wouldn’t necessarily ruin it. Let’s get hypothetical and say the Flames made this deal at the draft in which they also are able to pick McKenna 1st overall.
Going into next season with McKenna-Fantilli-Coronato along with Parekh, Gridin and Wolf. Flames often bounce back after a bad season. Depending what happens with Kadri and Coleman it could be conceivable that pick is outside the top 5

Fantilli is everything you want in a top-line C. I agree, if he became available- back up the truck.

Watching a few Devils games this season I would be interested in trading for Mercer. Unfortunately he wouldn’t move the needle much in our glut of hardworking but underproducing forwards but I liked his jam. If Zary could be part of the package going out I think the Flames would get better at draws, board battles, and speed.

If it is true the Flames could get a good young player and pick or prospect for Kadri it seems the Flames have long coveted Mercer (or maybe that is just CP?)

Mercer to me is a slightly better Frost. I am not that into it. I’d be chasing bigger. Fantilli won’t be available but I’d back up the truck for sure

Great package to be sure, but Columbus would want a more sure thing young player who would contribute now. Not a 2027 draft pick.

I think we're just gonna have to acquire a player like this through the draft.

I don't think Columbus would want anything, why in the hell would they trade him?

They would not. So it’s wasted conversation. However… if they did…
I still would take a flyer on Roger McQueen if Anaheim were willing

I think it's a long shot. But I'm pinning my hopes on the fact that it's CBJ and CBJ does weird things sometimes.

Anaheim would not take a flyer in exchange for McQueen. They made a big thing with McQueen going to Disneyland, and they are intentionally building a big and nasty team to play against. If McQueen doesn't work out 2-3 seasons from now, then perhaps they take a flyer for him. For now, they would command a premium.

I remember people being upset at the thought of giving up Zary as part of a deal for Cozens. Boy that deal looks pretty good right now.......

To be fair though, pre-injury Zary last year looked like he was taking a huge step.
Post injury Zary looks very scared to get hurt again.

Ugh Kent Johnson….
Can score a pretty goal. But leaves pretty much everything else to be desired.
