People are often confusing respect with trust.


No, respect is NOT earned. Respect is FREELY given, and if you have anywhere close to decent manners, you give it always unless the you have learned of a particular person or two that you should no longer be giving them respect. It is up to an individual to make people lose respect for them, but otherwise, you walk this earth with respect for everyone.


Trust is earned. Trust shouldn't be freely given.

We live in an upside down world where people walk around with no respect for anyone else, while blindly trusting idiots spreading misinformation.

I'm not at all confusing trust with respect and sorry if you don't like it or that it triggers you. We see it differently. Respect is definitely earned but that doesn't mean I'm going to treat someome poorly who hasn't earned my respect. I 100% do not walk around respecting each person individually, but that doesn't mean I don't treat people with respect. They're different concepts and it's obvious we're using the terms differently.

I’m skeptical. Why would McDavid go to a non-playoff team? How could the Bruins pay the price for McDavid without opening up big holes in their already weak lineup? Why would the guys being sent to Edmonton waive their NTCs - especially if McDavid won’t be there to pad their stats? If McDavid actually is available, why isn’t there a feeding frenzy of other teams in on it?

They can't have him on the block because he wants to take one more run with his buddy Draisaitl at a Stanley Cup in Edmonton. They also can't put him on the block because they have to do everything they can to sign him no matter what he tells them. Oiler fans still have PTSD from the Gretzky trade, no way they are supporting a McDavid trade no matter what they get back. I imagine the next PR damage control statement will be that McDavid wants to concentrate on his season and talks will resume after the end of the season. Honestly, I think the quickest way to a cup for the oiler would be to trade one of the wonder twins.obvious choice after drai signed for 8 is mcdavid. They could fix all their problems with one trade… albeit assuming they find a trade partner with the following assets and oilers management has the balls to pull the trigger as I’m sure the immediate riots would be quite severe.

Mcdavid for at minimum:

An NHL goalie
Young D x2
Draft picks x lots

Defensive issue (maybe), goaltending, and pipeline all addressed. Luckily bowman is a bownehead and won’t do that and signs mcdavid for big term and big money and pays 50mil, or half the cap, to 4 players (dri 14, bouch 10, nurse 9.5, mcdavid 16).

So then the oilers can live out the next 8 years in abysma, aging, mediocrity!!

Also in a cap world, the return for McDavid in a trade isn’t as lucrative as one thinks. It would be hilarious.
