Kraken got Ryker Evans to sign a two year extension. 2 years for a total of 4.1 million with a AAV of 2.05 per year. Seems like a pretty nice bargain to me. Maybe this results in a few more of these good RFA players coming to terms.

I think Montreal is seeing it as they get the value if they can find a team that wants the floor boost with little actual dollars going out the door.

Different positions I realize, but total NHL games is very similar to Zary.
I think you go higher with Connor, but something like 2 years @ 3.2. Certainly doesn't help Zary for higher AAV on a bridge deal.

-The Habs are looking to find a team with the room to absorb Price's contract. This means the Wings, Pens, Flames, Blue Jackets, Blackhawks, Sharks and Ducks
-The Habs are also looking to acquire 2nd line C
-Kadri is apparently willing to waive for the Habs
I would be thrilled with Kadri going to the Habs in exchange for:
-Price
-Hage
-One of their LD (Xhekaj, Struble, or Engstrom)
Follow that with an Anderson trade for futures.

Is it me or is it odd that Price's bonus is on Sept 1 rather than July 1?

Yeah, that was my thinking. Evans is a year younger, drafted a year later. With this deal coming in at this price, I wonder if it does bring the price down for a guy like Zary vs what he might have been asking for.

He simply can't miss any of training camp. This is an absolutely critical year for him. So at some point, he needs to sign the contract put in front of him. If they are offering 3 years, I can understand that's too long, so figure out what a 2 year deal is.
Tick tock.

Kypreos reported that Kadri would be willing to waive NTC for Toronto or Montreal about a month ago.

That was how the article was written, but seems to ignore that only SJ is under the floor at the moment. I don't see getting to the floor to be much of a problem, certainly not one that would cost an asset. Very Montreal-centric viewpoint on that one.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Couldn't SJ just not put Couture on LTIR too?

ah ok. I totally missed that. Or forgot it.
Interesting.
Honestly Kadri would add an element Montreal certainly needs.

I would maybe target Owen Beck as part of the package. Could be a 3rd line center long-term.

Montreal gets Kadri, with the cap going up and the contracts they have. They are looking very good.
I would take Price and J Anderson back if we could get a ton from them.
I hope this happens, target both their 1sts.
