If I'm Conroy, I'm telling Treliving to find a 2026 1st round pick, somewhere somehow. He has the summer to do this. Once he does that, the negotiations for Kadri will pick up and go from there.

I think I would insist on Roy or Laughton, both have significantly more value for trade I believe.

Please stop adding Robertson to this deal like he has any value. The Leafs are a bad trade partner, their 2028 first is the only thing they realistically can offer.

We should be eager to move him especially if he's willing to entertain it. This is the McKenna draft and we should have a dog in that fight given the current state of the franchise.

It seems like the people who want this trade just want the Flames to tank.

I am hoping that Conroy and team are frustrated with how difficult or near impossible it is to trade into the top 5 a couple years in a row now.....and want to nudge it along.

Out:
Kadri, Ras, Coleman, Backlund (assume he will want to try to win as a rental)

In:
Byram, Roy, Lots of futures and expiring cap dumps.

The Flames are getting a first because it's Tre?

After missing out on the McDavid lottery due to a surprise playoff season, the next year the Flames dipped again and got into the convo for Matthew's, ultimately coming away with Tkachuk. A true elite talent.

Given the current state of our prospect pool, being that it's likely very deep with future NHL talent, if we can add a future superstar or two over the next couple drafts we could be set up for a nice 10 year run of legit contention for the Stanley Cup.

With Toronto being the centre of the hockey universe if they're hot and heavy after Kadri you gotta think we'll hear about it in the media soon right? That's not the kind of story they'd let slip by, no way. How exciting

It's all over twitter already.

Having 2 GMs that are in on everything and always miss or come in as the runner up.........dealing with each other should mean they can't miss right??? *fingers crossed*

I think the price is Cowan + or go away Brad. Cowan doesn’t need to even stay a flame. Just collect the most value and then use that as currency elsewhere.
There’s guaranteed to be another team out there that covers Cowan and would flip one of their top prospects for him

I am not in the tank crowd, but I do see why this makes sense given the age of Kadri and of when the Flames have the talent to make a real run.

That is not to say we do it for a pile of crap (Domi, Robertson and a lowish pick does nothing for me).

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Moving Kadri is the one thing that will pull the Flames into the McKenna conversation and I am firmly in the camp that thinks this franchise needs that.
Even if we finish last, we’re still not guaranteed to get McKenna. How good is the 2026 draft class considered to be, apart from McKenna?

Outside of three guys, Matthews, Nylander and Knies that's roster doesn't have much of anything that's interesting. Roy they just got so he isn't moving. I guess I like McCabe and Benoit is dirt cheap. Lol the Leafs are screwed.

If the Leafs didn't re-sign Tavares I'd get the need to go after Kadri but with Tavares signed why is Toronto desperate for another aging C?

I'd take Laughton as a trading chip for the deadline. Could easily fetch a nice pick.

I expect the Flames could flip Cowan to the Pens.

Verhoeff, Roobroeck, Stenberg all look like studs

Roobroeck is the only center, 6’4 190 already
