Same here, 10 years later I'm not really taht sad that we lost cause it was quite a ride. But just because I feel so bad for those guys, like Rhett, Iginla, Gelinas...etc.
Also kind of funny, when I saw the Tampa players, I thought "Enemy" - funny that some of those guys became Flames later (Freddy Modin, briefly) or almost (Brad Richards) but I still see them as an enemy.

Both still pissed at Kerry Fraser. How they are cheering for their boys (Conroy and Iginla, Rhett and Regehr/Leopold)...... we really did have a special team to cheer for.
Add: also Conroy on the Gaudreau thing... hilarious.

I was at every playoff game in 04. Tickets weren't in high demand before the run started. My sister's coworker, a STH, was able to purchase additional seats and I took a pair.
The small group of folks from section 211 that we high fived, cheered, booed with and jumped for joy with brings a smile back almost ever time I'm at a game now.
I remember the guy sitting directly in front of me. He painted his face camo-style red, black and yellow and wore a Nazi helmet that said "Darryl's Army". His sister was getting married on the day of game 6 in the SCF so he missed it. To this day, I "blame" him.
Curious if he is a member of the CP community.

For me the best moments of that year were the clinch of a spot against the 'Yotes (we got a box at an auction and were there for that win - the crowd went nuts!!); the Conroy call to Rob Kerr on Overtime at some ridiculous time in the night - fantastic! - wish there was audio of that somewhere; running up to the airport with a bunch of Aussie buds to see the Flames come home after Game 7 (sad - but watching Commodore sign autographs until he couldn't anymore was wonderful - glad he at least got a Cup eventually); and the emotional Thank You Flames! at Oly Plaza.
The games, the Red Mile also stood out -- but those ones were the parts that I remember oh so well and got my emotions going.
the biggest thing that makes me remember that run with a lot of fondness was the fans excitment, the fact that the sea of red showed up in numbers at the pregame skate for the first playoff game at the dome and cheered the team though warmups.

Chills man, straight chills. Sittin in my office overwhelmed with emotion. Sucks dude, just thinkin of any member of that team makes my hair stand up
best memory for me during that run.. I was with my dad sitting right behind the sharks bench for game 3 of that series.. we got shutout i believe which sucked but the atmosphere was insane... Riccis ugly!! i loved that chant haha, everyone started throwing stuff on the ice after the game and some crazy guy had a cows tounge with him right beside us and threw it on the ice hahah. Loved the passion from the crowd. I was In grade 4 when it happened but I can remember everything. During a school assembly all the kids started chanting go flames go, the teachers went along it was unreal. Awesome time, I just hope we can get there again!

Cool photos but not from the 04 cup run.

man those pictures with Sea of Red are amazing. Gives you goose bumps.
Rhett and Connie was actually trying to figure out who amongst their teammates from 2004 are still in the playoffs. They can only think of Iginla(Boston), Regehr(LA) and Leopold(St. Louis). Kobasew was playing for Pittsburgh during the regular season but Connie says he got sent down to AHL. Those are the only 3 players I also can think of.
10 years tonight, Thursday June 3 2004...."The Shift". Recall rushing home from work, setting the VHS tape (superstition, as I did before every game that run) and getting to my buddies house where we watched all road games.
"The Shift" both for Iginla, and Marcus Nilson in Game 5 OT of the SCF; great chemistry between the two on this shift.
- The shot from Regher almost went in, as did the rebound at 7 seconds
- Blatant hold from Lowry on St. Louis at 19 seconds.
- The loss of helmet by Iginla, but then the great puck retrival by Nilson, who then gets into the perfect spot for Iginla to do a behind the back pass at 30 seconds.
-Igina/Nilson show continues, with another blind pass by Iginla, knowing where Nilson would be, at 38 seconds. From that point, Nilson was looking only for Iginla, and made a fantastic cross ice pass through 3 Tampa players at 49 seconds to setup the slapper.
-Nilson and Iginla hug away from the main pile
-Simon, with only 1 skate, jumping on the ice at 1:49...Lowry not joining the pile, rather going to Kiprusoff.
Cool story time; I had two tickets for Game 7 in Tampa, was still planning on going, but sold them after this OT game as no way I could go if the Flames lost Game 6 at home.
Unbelievable feeling after that game...by now even those most skeptical or superstitious Flames fan had to be excited...Game 6, Saturday night, at home in Calgary, to win the Stanley Cup...perfect....even the most guarded fan had to feel that this was really now, somehow, going to happen......

And then the playoffs were over! I blocked the rest after that.
