Default Political prediction thread for 2011

Hope its not a fata, but lets try to predict the future

1) A federal election is called in the spring of 2011 after the budget is defeated.
2) The Conservatives win a larger minority as the Liberal and NDP parties suffer losses, the Bloc strengthens
3) After the election loss, Ignatieff calls a press conference stating that he'll decide his future after confering with the Liberal Party, 10 seconds after that he announces his resignation, the Liberal's name Ignatieff's stapler as his replacement, Liberal ratings increase by 10%.
4) Jack Layton decides to leave federal politics stating that he wants to spend less time with his wife.
5) Gilles Duceppe throws on a hair net and flips the double bird to the Canadian provinces not named Quebec

Provincially

1) The Tories ratings plummet as Ed Stelmach continues to destroy his party, eventually Ted Morton mutters something about making Ed sleep with the fishes. We don't get a provincial election this year, however Ed does Step down just before Christmas siting a desire to return to the simple life of a farmer.
2) The leader of the Wildrose party releases a calander with racy photo's of herself, her rating among men over 40 sky rockets.

U.S.

1) The American economy takes another hit, Obama in a bid to bolster his sagging ratings regretfully accepts the resignation of VP Joe Biden, announces that Oprah is now the Vice President and to bolster the economy forces everyone to buy at least 5 books off of her reader list, half of the men in the United States blow their brains out bolstering the funeral services industry.

I dont see the budget being defeated unless the polls are close (not sure what they are at now) or unless the Conservatives try to force an election by putting in measures the Liberals could not support. I dont see them doing the second as thats what got them in trouble the last time.

Ignatief might be forced into calling an election by his party as just a reason to dump him as a leader if he preforms poorly.

I think the Liberals missed the Financial/Obama poll jump they could have had. I dont think it would have won them an election but I think it could have garnered them more seats than the Conservatives to take control in a Minority Government.

I have no interest in what the NDP or Bloc does. I had heard that Layton might step down and try to run in the Ontario provincial election.

I don't think we'll get an election this year unless some unforeseen issue surfaces; there just isn't the movement in the polls for it to be worth anyone's while. If the status quo is maintained for another election, the knives may be out in both major parties. Might be time for the Tories to admit that 38% is about the extent of Harper's upside; and Ignatieff has done nothing to increase his own party's standing. Neither leader can be optimistic about their political prospects unless something significant changes.

Federal: I think there will be a federal election after the budget is defeated. Harper will win a smaller minority, the Bloc and Liberals will gain seats, the Tories and NDP will lose some. Speculation begins immediately that all 3 federalist leaders are contemplating stepping down... but only Layton actually does.

Provincial: Election in Alberta as well, at first the media will be in all a tizzy over the WRP... then they`ll run a terrible campaign and barely dent the seat count. Life goes on... same ol`same ol`.
