I play a similar level of hockey and have also always worn Bauers. I don't know much about their new line up of skates, but I'd say go with the Vapors over the Supremes.
The vapors will be stiffer, so they won't feel good the first few times you wear them but they are a better performing skate. By the way, how much are the XXV's going for at Sportchek? and which websites have deals on the X:30's? It might be time for me to replace my XIV's

Sportchek has the XXV for $250. Regular price on them was $299.
Hockey Monkey has the X:30's on for $179. If you get creative with google, you can find a discount code for another 10% off.
I think those will be the route I go but want to confirm the X:30 is the replacement for the XXV. The XXV's I tried on at Sport Chek were actually quite comfortable, though I didn't try the Supreme line.
Tried the Reebok 8k's, and they just didn't feel right.

Both skates fit totally different. Try them both on. It is the only way to know for sure.

I must sound like a shill for the company, as I chime in on every skate thread about them. But I cannot emphasize how awesome Graf's are for fit. Like the New Balance of skates. They are worth the extra few bucks, and if you get them baked and moulded by a good fitter, you won't even notice them on your feet, even the first time out.

Of course Graf's fit nice though, they are all over $350+ just to start.
I just bought a pair of Reebok's yesterday and went for a skate today and they are excellent. Mine are the 6K and $150.
I have no answer for you as I don't know skates anymore but definitely try both pairs on to compare.

I played a good amount of hockey in my day and still play on rec leagues but to be honest....I think any skate within the past 3-5 years for the level that 90+% of us play at will do the same thing.
Disclaimer: Obviously not talking about the walmart no lace style.

The supreme One70s are a skate from this year and the vapor XXVs are not. The Vapors are going to be more of a traditional Bauer skate fit whereas the supremes will be more of a wider fit. I'd go for the X:30s if I were you.

I just bought a pair of vapor x shift skates from source for sports on ctr st.
$189. The box says they are reg $499.
Apparenty they are exclusive to source for sports and are below the x50 but above the x40.
If that is the case then crazy good deal.

The major difference is the fit. The Supremes have a much wider toe area and the vapours are quite tight. Obviously anything can be adapted but that's what I noticed when trying the 2 on. Also I think the Supremes are lighter than the vapours although I was looking at the One95's (which I bought) at the time.

I've been thinking about getting new skates and I was also looking at getting Bauer Supremes or Vapours. I currently have an older pair of Bauer Supreme 1000 skates, and they've been good but the blade has been worn down so much. I used to take them to get sharpened at Sport Mart and I think they grinded the blade down too much each time. I've since changed places where I get them sharpened and the blade isn't wearing down too much, but I've heard that they don't always get a straight groove... so once again I've changed places, but I've got such small blades that its time to replace the blades or get new skates. I think I'd rather try some newer skates. Even though getting new blades is the cheaper route.

i recently bought my first pair of Grafs and wow - they were great right out of the box.
I'd sure love to try those new really light skates from bauer though - but it just feels like they would never really get broken in......

For those that have big feet, sprint over to Tuxedo. They've got Vapor XXXX and Supreme One95's on at 199, regularly well over 600 regularly.
Unfortunately the smallest size they have is 10.5, which is a lot bigger than my 9 feet
The search continues.
Anyone else see any places with clearance skates on?

Do they make Sr. skates that only fit for certain sizes? I was looking at Bauer skates and I can't remember the model but it only went up to size 6 yet it was listed as a Sr. skate. And I saw another model that only had sizes for 10-12.

And they last last forever, I've had my pair now (Graf 703) for 6 years, still great, just had to replace the blades once cause I'd worn them out. I've definitely got my money's worth

Where did you get the 6K for $150? I have been looking for some 6K but Hockey Experts has them for $225.
Edit: Pro hockey has them for $200.
