Anyone seen the new Molson Canadian ads? They have dropped 'I am Canadian' for 'It starts here'.
The commercial has nothing to do with beer, but for some reason I like it! (Just came on, and I actually turned around to watch it)

I think it's fantastic too. Joe Canadian was cute the first little bit, but then Molson got a little arrogant imo trying to make everyone be patriotic if they drank the swill they call Canadian.
This new commercial is really great - love how with the music and the pace of it the tension kinda rises...then it just stops with 'I'm really mad at my boyfriend'.

I like the stunning obviousness of the commercial. Tons of women looking at the camera provatively, and then; "It all starts here", and they show the booze... which makes sense. Once you're drinking/drunk, sexual promiscuity chances go up by a zillion percent.
I like that commercials are starting to actually show the truth in them with a 'but who cares?' attitude. One hilarious one that's been showing in the movies is for shaw cable I think. They have parents singing 'let your back-bone slide' to their kids in several goofy formats. Finally, they get cable, and the kids turn into couch zombies, and everyone is way happier than when they were spending time together. Brutal honesty, I love it.

It's a Bell Expressvu commercial. And yeah, I think it's hilarious too.

Does anybody know what the song is that's playing in the commercial? I have heard it a few times but have never been able to find out who it's by.

Not sure if that's it, but that's the title that came up.

I'm a bit confused..."It all starts with Canadian"
Does that mean when the guy shows up and tells him to get his coat, that he's already been drinking (and driving?)?
Or when he's lifing weights, and the ditz comes by...does it mean he's been drinking Canadian before working out?
Same with the plane...when blond ditz sits beside him, does it mean he's already started with swilling down Canadian?
Its obvious what the message is...but, like most commercials, logic and common sense conflicts with the tag-line....with the hope that people fuzzy the line between reason and fantasy and someone try to make sense out of something that really doesn't. Or, hope that people just take what they see out of the commericals (girls ready to hop on for a ride) and damned be common sense.

Yeah it's a pretty genius marketing campaign. No doubt it will inspire many neanderthals into thinking beer will get you laid. B-)

There is meaning behind that commercial? I just like looking at Beth and Stacey. B-) I have to admit though that when I see the commercial, I feel like grabbing a beer. So I guess it works.

I dunno. I saw it, and was wondering to myself... does this actually happen?
The way I see it, all the girls in that commercial would be seeing just some dude drinking beer like any average guy. The kicker is that the chicks in the commercial are hot, so the only way they'd approach this 'guy' if if he's decent looking.
There's been plenty of times when I've lost my inhibitions after downing a few, and talked to girls like that. It usually ends with the same result - not what happens on the commercial.
Maybe I gotta start drinking more Canadian, and less Corona and Keith's perhaps...

I think its the worst add ever. How exactly does that commercial make anyone want to drink beer? At best that add could make me want to watch porn. Al least a few of those women are hot, but it sure doesn't make me want to go down to the liquour store and buy a case.

I said nothing of its effectiveness as a marketing campaign.
I just like watching it and would turn around if it was playing in my living room (lord knows why I would be facing away from my TV in the first place)

You remember the commercial and who it's for - that's what makes it effective. It may not make you go out and buy a 12pack, but having the brand in your head is the main purpose of an ad like that.
