I saw this movie this weekend, at Country Hills. It could get guys in the good books with their girls. It is a romantic film, but it is a sports film because it follows last years run of the Red Sox. It opens everywhere next week.
Although their lives are vastly different, the relationship seems perfect until the baseball season begins and she has to compete with his first true love: the Boston Red Sox.

First off I would never watch a movie with that no talent gaylord Jimmy Fallon (nothing against homosexuals i just couldn't think of a better way to describe him).
Secondly what a way to ruin a celebration of the red sox world series victory than have Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore appear on field while the sox celebrate. I still wanna punch whoever was responsible for that debacle.
Last and certainly not least who would wanna waste their money on that garbage when they can see Sin City for the umpteenth time, a far superior movie in every way imaginable.

Is this a remake of the film based on the novel Fever Pitch which has been out her for about 10 years and is based on a man trying to keep his relationship alive despite his total devotion to Arsenal FC?
Sounds eerily similair.

Yeah it is a great novel actually (most Nick Hornby works are in my opinion). I will most likely pick it up on video because I can't stand Drew "wears clothing these days" Barrymore, and Jimmy Fallon.....
although it does seem like a good date movie.

Date movie? HA! Maybe for you guys.
My girlfriend took ME to Sin City! Now that is a date movie, folks. I'm sure for a first date, or a date in a relatively early relationship, that's it's a good movie.
But I also didn't like the fact that they busted onto the field when the Sox won it all. Disgraceful, if you ask me. These guys battled hard all year (hell, all 86 years) and they finally won it, only to realize that they are being used as a setting for some shinguarde hollywood production.
That said, I'll probably see it eventually.

I've seen the trailers for both movies and Sin City just doesn't interest me. The cinematography looks pretty cool, but the story didn't appeal to me. Fever Pitch looked like a chick flick that I may actually enjoy for a change.
Fotze, Drew Barrymore has changed in the past few years, I used to hate her too but I am enjoying some of the stuff she has been doing lately, I don't find her to be annoying anymore.

I liked the first Fevor Pitch because I can relate to being a huge Arsenal FC fan. An American remake centered around baseball though, I think I'll pass. It's bad enough that Baseball is back on all the sports channels. Now I realize how much I really miss hockey.
