Default Big Cats Hookup in Deal

Nashville and Florida basically talked for days and mentioned a lot of players. Tonight a deal came together that both GMs have some reservations about, so it must be relatively fair!

To Nashville
Daymond Langkow
Bryce Salvador

To Florida
Patrick Lalime
Edm 1st 2011

For us the reason we made this deal is pretty obvious. We needed another defenceman ad get one in Salvador. We also wanted at least one more (although hopefully another comes around) top 6 forward. Clearly there is a lot of risk with Langkow....sounds like he is months away from playing, if ever. Salvador has a concussion as well, but he is apparently coming around.

Basically I'm counting on Cheese to make some deals and figure out how to win a few games in the sim to keep that pick in the middle of the league or worse!

Thanks Matt for the talks and deal!

Please start losing Cheese.

I wasn't really looking to trade either Salvador or Langkow, but with their individual injury situation, clearing out their 12 million combined salary for next year for players that will likely be terrible is definitely a huge plus as I'll be able to allocate a large portion of that cap hit for adequate replacements for both Lanks and Salvador.

As for Lalime, it's easier to trade him than it would be to trade a likely 62 OV Langkow that's making 7.5 million.

Edmonton's 1st should hopefully be 10-15 range or better I hope, so I should get a really solid prospect there.

I like this deal for both teams, Nashville gets some assets that might help them get into the playoffs and Florida gets rid of 2 assets who could have problem contracts next year.
