Great start to the season. I only managed to catch the ninth inning (damn school), but the Jays looked good out there (I know, it's only one game).
Jays were up only 3-2 until a 2-run homer by Eric Hinske. Wells also had a solo BOMB in this one, right after a 2-run Hudson HR.
So, contrary to popular belief, the Jays appear to be doing it with the long ball (one game, I know!)
Adams made the last 2 outs of the game and looked fantastic on them, especially a tough short-hop on the final out.
Also, where was the Hinske Heckler? He's always in TBay!

Yeah, good start. They're gonna have to get help from throughout the lineup if they want a chance this year.
Halladay wasn't spectacular, but good enough to win, and that's all that really matters.
Be nice if they could get at least one more win in this series before they head home to play Boston.

I know its Tampa, and I know its one game, but honestly, I breathed a huge sigh of relief when they won. Opening day isnt friendly to the Jays, amd if they can get some wins now, that'll be huge for the tough month ahead.

Hudson hit a two-run homer off loser Dewon Brazelton in the fourth inning. Six pitches later, Wells followed with a solo shot off one of the catwalks supporting the roof at Tropicana Field.
Stolen from the TSN Artical...if thats the case the Jays want to get out of that park and fast as it's only a matter of time before that roof collapses!!!!! That Catwalk is HANGING from the Structural member supporting the roof.

Some encouraging signs from today's game.
- a solid start from the ace
- homers from two key guys that need to produce - Hinske and Wells
- Good first game from Hillenbrad
- good 9th for Batista.
All and all a good day.

I know the Jays have no real chance at the play-offs based the fact that they have the Red Sox and Yankees in their division, but they really need Hudson and hinske to have big years if they want to have a plus .500 year this year. Hopefully, this may be a sign that these two are ready to have some decent years, although i don't expect hudson to continue to hit homers.

Tropicana is an odd ballpark. There are two catwalks up there, and one of them is in play, while the other is out of play. Hit the first, it's a double, hit the second, it's a HR.
Imagine if hockey allowed for home ice rules...
