Nashville and Toronto hook-up in 6 player deal
After some fairly easy talks (given the players involved) the Nashville Predators ended the first ever "CPHL Trade Break" by making a blockbuster deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Started out innocently and ended up in a 6 player swap that might see the Preds win a draw for a change! Here is how it breaks down:
To Toronto:

James Neal
Benoit Pouliot
To Nashville
Brad Richards
Trent Hunter
Craig Conroy
From a Nashville perspective we made this deal to bring in a legitimate top line player in Richards. Trading Neal sucks...but the upgrade is worth it and Richards is in his prime right now. He is having a good NHL season and that was a big factor. We wanted to move a goalie for a roster player somehow and took this chance with DiPietro here...it also closes the door on what was obviously a bad deal I made last summer for him!
