Caps - Wings make a deal !!
GM Hesla got an itchy trading finger after seeing all the big deals go down the last few weeks.

Brendan Morisson (2yr x 3.0 million)
Steve Staois (1 yr x 5.0 milllion)
PA PArenteau (AHL)
Linden Wey (ECHL).
The deal was made to primarily bolster the CEnter position. Morrison was doing well as our 2nd line Center, but in order to compete as the year goes on we felt we needed to bolster the top 6. Greene was struggling as a supposed OFfensive Dman, so Zidlicky brings in some more Pop from the back end. Staois was added to neutralize some of the Cap difference.
Parenteau has been doing well in NY after being an AHLer for years and Wey is a project prospect.
OVerall it gives the Caps a decent top 6 of
Havlat - Ribeiro - Langenbrunner
Gagne - Gomez - Malone
Call it the land of underachievers and hated players... but it does have some solid depth.
Our top 4 D is now OLD... but a good mix of offense and Defense in
Mitchell - Zidlicky
McCabe - Clark
The glaring holes in the team are now 3rd line RW and 5/6 D
