Those Firebirds are machines. I don't know about that one, but a friend had a 99 Firebird and it had roll bars all around and it pretty much saved his life when he was t-boned.

The other car was destroyed while his firebird didnt even have a dent in the metal bar in the door.

This kid lived too somehow.

0-60 on an '85 is probably like 7.5 - 8 seconds. Not much of a machine during that time.

Very true, but also very easily modifiable.

The only good GM vehicle from the 80's is the Grand National. Of course it was axed because it was faster than the Camaro and almost as fast as the Corvette.

It was the fastest car produced by GM during the 80's, including the Corvette. Who knew turbocharged V6's would catch on?

Damn, thought this thread was about the genius who launched his car up a power pole Sat on 14th St. & Bagot Ave. right across from the school. Driver side front tire hooked on the guy wire and the car rode straight up, almost vertical.

Anyone catch that scene?

I thought it was crazy that the guy first hit the brakes when he was already airborn

Yeah, not really aware how fast those 85's are, but my buddy's was about 450 hp and just a machine.

The only vehicle to ever beat him in a race was a Ford Lightning.
