Steve Nash is the MVP of Canada.
I rarely watch any basketball but tonight,I concentrated just on Steve Nash.
Watched him everywhere.
It was an amazing education. This guy is amazing,...our basketball Gretzky.
How did Canada let him go.?
Is he not the most dominant player out there?
Incredible eyes.Incredible abilities.Timing, the passing, the clock ,way more. WOW
The system he is in ;to control the ball upcourt and direct players when defending.
And float around,brilliant.
Take the time to watch the little Canadian in a playoff game.

Where did you see the game? I kept flipping channels all day to catch the first three games, but when it came to the Suns game, I couldn't find it being covered anywhere. p*ssed me off that the game of most interest to Canadians was the one game not being shown.

I'm curious as to what you mean by "How did Canada let him go?". I wasn't aware that
a)Canada had a professional Basketball league (of any consequence)
or
b) The Raptors or Grizzlies at some point had his rights.
I'm pretty sure neither of those is true, so how exactly did Canada let him go?

I was just kidding about Canadians becoming rich and famous somewhere else and not receiving the recognition due them.I know it wasn't accurate.

Well, now that he's not playing for Dallas, maybe his owner will let him play for the Canadian National program during the offseason. Too bad the Olympics aren't until 2008, but you would have to think that the way he's playing now, he would make Canada an instant force.
edit: just to clarify, by 'force', I don't mean medal contenders, I mean a team that can win a few games over places like New Zealand and such.

When you asked how Canada let him go, I thought you meant team Canada, because he actually is off Team Canada. They fired the coach that he really liked and now he's likely not going to play in any international games.
We have no chance now.

He's seriously over hyped here because he's Canadian, he's great with the ball and has some serious passing ability, but he jumps into his shots and turns the ball over alot, IMO he's Top 25 material maybe Top 20, but there are tons of players who have way more skills, look at Allen Iverson similar player except he dunks at 6'0 and he can pass almost as well. Right now the #1 player is LeBron James.
My List would go
1. LeBron James
2. Allen Iverson
3. Ray Allen
4. Amare Stoudemire
5. Jermaine O'Neal
6. Shaquille O'Neal
7. Yao Ming
8. Kevin Garnett
9. Paul Pierce
10. Kobe Bryant
11. Carmelo Anthony
12. Steve Francis
13. Gilbert Arenas
14. Tracy McGrady
15. Peja Stojakovic
16. Vince Carter
17. Mike Bibby
18. Cuttino Mobely
19. Eddy Curry
20. Ben Wallace
21. Emeka Okafor
22. Jason Kidd
23. Dwayne Wade
24. Steve Nash
25. Jason William

I appreciate the list ,Flaming, but ,really ,I am not much of a basketball fan.
Believe me I felt funny thru all four beers watching a little guy stand out. Easily the best player playing that night. And easy to follow him around.White.....uniform.
Short white... uniform.
I was pretty sure that I was missing something, something that I am sure I had been doing tens of years. Dang it just won't come back to me. Uhh
Looking at your list there couldn't be t0o many fans of hoops. If you did this with hockey players you would have had a huge discussion happening.Early though.
I couldn't tell you where half of those guys played. :/
He is on Sportsnet tonight. Might need a batch of beers to watch it though.

I don't think he's overhyped at all. He is an MVP candidate and wouldn't be surprised to see him win it.
As for your list I think your underrating him.
1. LeBron James
2. Allen Iverson
3. Ray Allen - Maybe but I don't think he's as important to the team as Nash is to the suns. Top 3? I know it's your list and all but come on.
4. Amare Stoudemire
5. Jermaine O'Neal - No way you have him before Garnett.
6. Shaquille O'Neal
7. Yao Ming
8. Kevin Garnett
9. Paul Pierce
10. Kobe Bryant
11. Carmelo Anthony
12. Steve Francis
13. Gilbert Arenas
14. Tracy McGrady
15. Peja Stojakovic
16. Vince Carter
17. Mike Bibby
18. Cuttino Mobely - He's a bench player, nothing more. How can you say he is better than Nash.
19. Eddy Curry - This guy averages 16 and 5 at 19 and Bosh isn't even on the list.
20. Ben Wallace
21. Emeka Okafor - What's he doing in the top 25?
22. Jason Kidd
23. Dwayne Wade
24. Steve Nash
25. Jason William
I know it's your list and all but what about Dirk Nowitzki, Ginobli, Brand, Gasol, Marbury. Those guys IMO all deserve to be in the top 25 or atleast ahead of some of the players up there.

No way Nash is overhyped. Nash is getting his credit from everywhere, not just Canadians. He's a serious candidate for league MVP and the leader of one the best teams in the NBA.
Comparing Nash to Iverson isn't fair, they play such a different style and do very different things for their teams. Next to maybe Kidd, Nash is probobly the best point guard in the league.
And Lebron can't be that high on the list yet. He's a great player but he's still coming up and he couldn't get his team into the playoffs, so no way he should get #1 on any list.

There is a HUGE difference between the best player FOR the team and the best player ON a team.
How much better would ANY of those players teams be if Nash were on them? More then if any of those players were on Nash's team.
Claeren.
