Has Artie Lang quit the Howard Stern Show?
Mostly rumors but one has to wonder what is going on. Probably rehab, I really hope he gets himself together. The show is definitely missing him. If true, I'm sure Mary Ann from Brooklyn will be pleased.

Stern was evasive and indirect regarding Lange's absence, but it was clear something out of the ordinary was behind Lange's vacancy.

Brittany Murphy's untimely death acts as an eerie reminder for Howard Stern Show fans that their own superstar heroin addict could go at any time. Most Howard Stern Show fans have been waiting to hear the news that Artie Lange was found dead in the shower in a pool of his own Hawaiian Punch vomit for years now. What's most shocking about the Artie Lange case is, perhaps, that he's managed to keep sliding down his slippery slope long after most of the world thought he'd hit rock bottom.
Artie Lange was absent from the final week of the Howard Stern Show before the holiday break. Sirius XM management ordered him to stay home for the week for reasons that Howard Stern refused to explain.
Artie Lange fans are hoping that Artie Lange is somewhere on a sober living ranch far away from Delaware and that he'll return to the show after the new year.
|
Edit: I see that I misspelled Artie's name in the thread title, which is pretty embarrassing since I have Too Fat To Fish sitting on my bedside table.

That's probably the most apt one emoticon response ever. Not that I approve of that sort of thing.

I thought that he was in rehab....although the rumours were that he was fired before Christmas and that Stern didn't want to get into it on air during that last week.
How is that book anyway? I've been looking at buying it, but last time bought David Cross' book instead.

It's a good read if your a fan of the show and Artie. To be honest I'm shocked he isn't dead from all the abuse he has done to his body.

I think he will be back, just sobering up or something. He has some major problems! The does well with the Lange speculation.

More importantly, will Sirius be able to keep Stern? He's making some pretty strong suggestions that he's done in a year. Possibly just bargaining, but it sounds like if he's going to return it will have to be a reduced wage.

Last time I heard it sounded like he sobered up a bit and had a girlfriend. That wasn't too long ago. Sad stuff, he's a funny guy, hope everything's ok.

I think Stern will be back, I feel he has an understanding of his purpose and that so many people 'rely' on him. I don't know of any other personality where that is the case, and I think Howard understands that.

I bought the audio version on itunes and was very disappointed. Half the book is read by Jim Florentine, Bob Levy or Baba Booey because Artie was too effed up to finish the reading himself.

I think that the reading by Levy would be painful? Its funny when they talk about it on the show and screw with him, but that is about all I can take of it.
I think/hope Stern is coming back. He might come back in a reduced capacity (reduced from the current 10 weeks a year of vacation!), but he'll be back in some form. I think this for most of the reasons already specified, and also because he has a lot of Sirius stock. That stock will be worthless if he drops off the map completely.

I don't like Artie Lang, but its interesting to note that Dr. Drew just recently predicted Artie would crash very soon.

From the article Burn baby burn posted....
"Artie Lange fans are hoping that Artie Lange is somewhere on a sober living ranch far away from Delaware and that he'll return to the show after the new year."
Heroin addiction doesn't get fixed in two weeks.
Jesus.
I stopped listening when Lange joined the show. So not funny.
