EDMONTON - Young pledges hoping to join a University of Alberta fraternity were made to eat their own vomit, locked in a plywood box and deprived of sleep.
Those are the disturbing allegation against the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity -- whose members are also knows as Dekes. It's an organization U of A students say has a reputation on campus for attracting those who like to party hard.
I blame the university; they force nearly all their students to live and study in Edmonton. When your university has inhumane policies like that, eating vomit is just a little way down the slippery slope.

In fairness, according to the article, the barf was baked into a lasagna. So it's not as bad as it sounds.
Nobody ever reads the article anyway.
Really, all this does is speak to the culture of Edmonton. Rather than doing productive things like 'studying' or 'cooking real food' they're all far too busy baking other people's vomit into lasagna.
They really should take the time to re-evaluate their allocation of their free time.

People actually join frats? I thought that was something that only happens in movies.
Agreed. So for people who've actually had experiences with frats, is the D-baggery as high as what the movies portray? I have yet to see a movie where frat boys weren't made fun of.
Cousin Eddie: I don't know why they call this stuff vomit helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark? Clark: You're the gourmet around here, Eddie.

I've been to frat parties up here... some fraternity groups are actually cool and welcoming.. some and are just people you want to kick the **** out of.
I'm not familiar with frats and all that crap. What happens if a pledge decides that the hazing just isn't worth it and he tries to just leave? Do they let him? Do they harass him some more? Do they leave him alone?
