Default Anyone Interested in Infant First Aid Course?

Not sure if this is the right forum, or if it should be in the Power Ring, but since I am not making any money off this...
Basically, since I am to have an heir in a couple of months, Mrs. Impaler and I are going to do an Infant/Child first aid course. If we can get 8 people together, it's only $25 pp. It's about 2.5 hrs. If anyone is interested, please PM me. Thanks for your time.

I took this a couple years ago...I am glad I have the training but would likely still freak out if ever faced with this type of scenerio...I think things were streamlined in 2005 so much of the info is more consistent and once you take the training you are good for 3 years...regarding infants things are somewhat different. Take the course.....but for now, what they taught me :

-Baby CPR = less than 1 year old : Centre of chest, open airway to neutral, check breathing for 10 seconds, fingers (middle and ring finger) straight up and down......2 puffs and 30 compressions.....
-Airway obstruction for baby = 30 then look 2....put in recovery position and check breathing every 2 minutes.....

-Baby choking : -5 back blows 5 chest throws holding the baby upside down

-Epipen : remove grey safety cap.....outter thigh : you will hear a click....hold it for 10 seconds and 15-20 minutes of temporary reflief.....grey cap at one end and needle at the other end......

What macker described is all taught in the 2 day First Aid Level C course, which I already have. It is good to know, and I commend you for taking responsibility for your little one. Good on you.

Edit: If you have time time and can afford it, I highly recommend the full First Aid Level C course with CPR & AED training. It is all highly valuable information.

Whenever we agree on. Basically, we can go to the instructor's place or she can come to our house - just a question of coordinating schedules.

BUMP for anybody that might still be interested. We are hosting this at our house (in Woodbine) Tuesday, Oct. 26th at 7pm (until 9). There is room for a couple more people, so if you are interested, please PM me. The instructor is charging $25 pp.

I took this course about four years ago. It was excellent - if you have a baby or one on the way this will be the best $25 you ever spend.

Plus since Vlad is just some anonymous dude on the Internet you can trash his house after the party!
