Default New Glasses - Issue viewing computer screen

I posted this in the clearlycontacts thread, but screw it, I'm making a new topic.

I just got glasses today and viewing my computer screen seems...IDK - fuzzy. Scanning large blocks or reading text is my most pressing concern.

If I put a piece of paper at the same distance it's clear as day.

Has anybody had this experience? Is it just part of a normal adjustment to wearing glasses or should I be talking to my optometrist?

Give yourself an adjustment period.

so it's normal?

I did a quick google figuring somebody would have mentioned it but didn't see anything.

I think so. What happens if you turn down your backlight? (Since you say paper at the same distance looks fine, I'm wondering if your glasses are diffusing light).

I've been wearing glasses for 20 years and everytime I get new ones I go through about a week of depth perception being messed up, words on the TV or Computer screen being blurry and things just seeming "off". It's pretty normal to need to adjust to new glasses whether the prescription has changed a little or alot. Don't be suprised if you seem more blind at night either for the first little bit.

I'm sure Hesla can give you the best advice on this.

Cool, thanks guys!

And you're right about the distance SebC. I have a weak prescription, but I didn't realize how bad my eyes had gotten. Everything's so clear now!

Edit: wow I can read a prescription bottle from across the room!
Edit2: that didn't take long. i can read the computer again
