Well that sucks, looks there are going to be some changes in LA, this should not have been a loss.

And after a closer look, another injury, not as significant however; Bergeron gone for a week. So that makes Glencross 3M, Schultz 2M, Bergeron 1W....ugh.

Jackets win and pull to .500 on the season after going 0-2 to start the year. Some key changes have been made and there finally seems to be some scoring.

Rick Nash had a goal and an assist in his first game as a Jacket while TJ Oshie continues to rack up points playing on the op line.

Game Notes

Dustin Byfuglien and James Neal fight to a draw at 0:56 of 2nd period
Rick DiPietro enters game at 5:03 of 3rd period
Daniel Alfredsson is injured at 6:50 of 3rd period (Bruised Left Shoulder)
Rick Nash and James Neal fight to a draw at 13:42 of 3rd period
Marc-Edouard Vlasic beats up Mike Brown at 15:23 of 3rd period
Martin Hanzal and Brian Rolston fight to a draw at 15:26 of 3rd period
Dustin Byfuglien beats up Tom Kostopoulos at 15:41 of 3rd period

Lots of fights in this game with the Jackets beating up the Preds all over the place.

Power Play
Nashville Predators - 1 on 7 Attempt(s) - 14.29%
Columbus Blue Jackets - 2 on 3 Attempt(s) - 66.67%

Specialty teams were one of the biggest differences.

3 Stars

1 - Paul Martin (CBJ)
2 - Jason Arnott (CBJ)
3 - T.J. Oshie (CBJ)

A defensive display by the rival squads.

Antti Niemi gets his first shutout of the season and in the CPHL after making 31 saves. Devin Setoguchi scores the lone goal.

The victory, however, comes at a cost with the Canucks first major injury of the young season. He's out for a month. MAB is out for a week with some aliment himself.

Not sure if you noticed but the Bruins have been playing pretty well since the beginning of preseason. And today was no exception. We out shot the Kings 36- 29 and scored 2 shorthanded goals on the same powerplay in the third period to secure our third win of the season.

3 Stars
1 - Ryan Smyth (BOS)
2 - Michal Handzus (BOS)
3 - Vernon Fiddler (LAK)

The Kings were the top team in the west in the preseason and were 3-0 in the regular season prior to this game; therefore, I hold firm on the statement that it is a game the Kings should not have lost.

The Kings will be making changes of some sort either through a trade or line changes.

The Preds got pushed around today plain and simple! Our PP was atrocious and we didn't manage to convert enough of those opportunities either.

If you're looking for a trading partner in LA, I will be on msn later tonight and always open to PMs!

The Habs squeak out another win, this time playing back-up Pavelec. I wasn't expecting a win playing him so it's good to see we came out on top!

This was a better played game as we outshot the Sabres and a few guys who hadn't contributed yet started putting the puck in the net....Vanek is a good example.

Gaborik still hasn't done much yet but did have 6 shots so hopefully he'll find the net soon. Otherwise he'll be finding a new team.

Ugh. The CPHL's Flames did their best to look like the NHL's Flames today.
