Superstar Swap: Kopitar For Nash

The Jackets and Habs hooked up for a deal on Sunday evening that saw two superstars change teams. Heading to Columbus to provide some much needed scoring is Rick Nash and heading to Montreal is struggling forward Anze Kopitar.

"We tried Kopitar at C and LW and although he was OK he just wansnt getting the job done. With Nash we get a proven scorer and CPHL warrior who can hopefully start putting puck in the net".

This was a difficult deal to make as Rick Nash has been a mainstay on the Habs for over 1.5 seasons. He was the CPHL MVP last year but this year in pre-season and regular season he really struggled. We couldn't get him clicking and weren't sure what to do.

When MJK offered Kopitar for Nash, it made sense. Kopitar is a bit younger and I think he has a better chance to meet his projected pt totals; poor Nash hasn't had anybody to play with on the Blue Jackets ever.

Kopitar will start on the 2nd line with Toews and Vanek and we'll see if that line clicks. If not, expect more trades to come!
